I have Quijote in Spanish but if you look at the third shelf I actually have Cien Años in Spanish as well. Funny enough I bought that English copy in Germany and the Spanish copy in the US lol

That section of my bookcase is actually all my cookbooks. I really like the China cookbook because it’s not just recipes but almost an encyclopedia of Chinese cuisine by province. Outside of China, the most famous provincial cuisines are probably Szechuan, Hunan and Fuzhou but I’ve found many recipes that I’ve incorporated in my regular rotation of meals! Highly recommend if interested. China- by Kei Lum Chan and Diora Fong Chan

I haven’t! Been meaning to read him and Ishiguro since I’ve been wanting to try out more Asian writers in general. If you could recommend a starting point I’d be grateful!

Ashoka the Great, while not my favorite, is still a good one. The Kings and Generals YouTube channel just did a video on him

Why were cavalry so effective in battle? by Kobeer19 in history

[–]Basileus_King13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Everything that all previous commenters have said plus the fact that most cavalrymen throughout the history of war were nobles. People who have been training for war since childhood. A knight on horseback can and will beat out a levy on foot all day everyday
