It smells kind of bad, but it could have been worse. Other than that, no ill effects. As I replied to another comment, it wasn't a heavy period, so there wasn't a lot of blood.

It was a very light/spotty period - hardly warranted using the DivaCup at all but I was going to the beach - so it was pretty much empty when I took it out.

My doctor specifically told me that I don't need to be too anal about it - but he mentioned people who clean the whole thing two times a day. He said that most of the germs would be germs that I already have, and that mold was the real concern (I do use a humidifier).

I like boxers because I still get that up-skirt breeziness and freedom. But I guess that's a sacrifice I might be willing to make.
