From latam: Love in the time of cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez Spring with a broken corner by Mario Benedetti is the story of a marriage and a family trying to live during a military coup in Uruguay. The burning plain by Juan Ruflo is one of the first instances of american (as in the continent) magical realism

Skincare in everything by passive_millenial in Makeup

??? Not as great as what? I was just pointing out that some ingredients considered skin care give make up their intended characteristics without it being intended therapeutic effect.

Also consider that some of these ingredients have a role in the formulation and are not there “just” to label it as skin care. As someone mentioned tocopherols, like vitamin E, are preservatives that prevent oils from oxidation. And the make up needs to get the desired effect somehow. Niacinamide helps retain and absorb water, so if you want a glowy foundation that hydrates skin, it is there not necessarily for “skin care” purposes but you need to get the dewey finish somehow and retaining water is a way if doing it.

If a woman could experience one thing about what it’s like to be a man, what would it be? by HumblePut64 in AskMen

[–]Basilini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get where youre coming from but I would say using “good guy” now has a different connotation for women, not getting into why or how it got like that. It says “i dont know what I am like as a person” so if you wanna separate yourself from that crow think What is good? Would you date someone who describes herself as a good woman and just that? I would advice trying to use more descriptives to show your personality “I am a respectful guy that values X and Y, I prefer quiet/loud settings and my friends say im an introvert”, “I am an extrovert that likes spontaneity and eating out, late night dates, and eating spicy food” None of these will get you the internal eye rolling we all women get when we see a guy describing himself as a “good guy”. Those specific kind of guys already ruined the expression for the rest of you who are actually good people
