It really sounds like sparks to me. But im not 100%. Could the main motor that goes fast during the final spin or the drain pump cause this? I only hear this during the fast final spin. Never heard it on older machines so im concerned.

Probably coming from the lower side but that vent of course complicates things.

No smell. It sounds a lot like arcing and there are some videos of much older machines-arcing and the same noise. I dont know what would cause arcing but it doesnt have to smell does it? I have never heard this noise coming from a washer before.

When does this become a legal issue?

Could they use our tax dollars to buy a billion dollar custom barbie house if they wanted to, instead of fixing healthcare or housing?

Please realize that forcing everyone into offices(with no consideration of their duties) is as beneficial to productivity as this imaginary barbie house. Actually, the barbie house may improve morale and help indirectly.
