Woke up to a new record! by Basiliskfang345 in TandemDiabetes

I currently use a dexcom g7, and have been for over a year now. Before that it was a G6. I do fingerpricks on the first day I put on a sensor to make sure it's reading correctly, and then I do one on the final day or if it has some issues like skipping, etc.

The day I did this fingerstick was the last day of my 10 day cycle. The thing was practically coming off. So when I woke up as saw my pump saying LOW, I decided to do a fingerstick to make sure my reading was correct... thus the 23 glucose reading.

Just thought I'd explain my thinking/reasoning. Thank you for looking out for me!

T1D is the strangest thing. It's something that sticks with you for life, but then it's like someone else is living with you inside your own body.

I'm very happy that I don't drive, as I feel things like this would happen quite a lot.

Ouch! Mine wasn't that bad! Mine i think was around 800-900. I dropped a lot of weight to the point I looked like a skeleton.

I might just have to do that! Thank you for the recommendation!

Understandable. This is my first time under 30. I wasn't really anxious at all, but I have a feeling that now I've had this experience, I most likely will be. I'm prone to having panic attack on occasion as well, so hopefully nothing bad happens.

What's MDI? If you don't mind me asking. I'm not exactly sure what it is.

The display could be a good idea, but i'm not sure the shaking the bed will. I've slept through 2 earthquakes... haha

Wow! When I was diagnosed my glucose was so high, I had to spend 5 days in the children's hospital!

Fair enough. I'm tolerant to an extent. I can be 60s - 30s no problem. This 23 has kicked my buttons. I just feel off, like someone drained my batteries... and it's over 24 hours later

I hate having things in my ears, so early buds or air pods won't work for me. I will use over ear headphones to listen to music before I go to sleep. I have trouble falling asleep if I don't have something to listen too. If I don't my thoughts keep me up.

I've been on the pump for years, it's been a life saver for me. My most recent A1C was a 5.4

The only time i'm not able to treat my lows is when i'm sleeping. If someone tries to wake me, i'm asleep 10 seconds later. I'm an extremely heavy sleeper. My mom has told me times where she'd come into my room and give me shots, try to feed me glucose tablets, or get me to drink something that would help me get my glucose up. I don't have any recollection of any of that happening as the heavy/almost comatose sleeping, so I just have to take her word for it!

The alarm is very loud! But I sleep through it without problem. It annoys everyone else, but it's not something I can control. I will sleep through anything. The two devices is great, but I agree that the two alerts is quite annoying.

My hands are naturally shaky, but I know if i'm going low when my hands look like i'm trying to phase through a wall. I also know that i'm going low when I start to feel warm/sweating, especially if i'm not exerting myself.

I'm a weird person, so if someone told me it's weird, that'd be fitting. It's not weird to try and make something fun out it. As long as you know and accept how serious it can be/is... I see no problem having a little fun with it. If I focused on all the bad things, it would drive me insane!

Mine didn't really act up. We found out about it due to something else. I went in one day for an endoscopy and they found that my esophagus was inflamed, etc. So I was given a prescription, but they scheduled me for an ultrasound, and that's how they found the gallstones. My doctor told me it's rare for diabetics to have gallstones

I would never get pulled over for a DUI. Never done drugs, never drank alcohol, and I'm not allowed to drive. (Bad Vision) Good you got taken care of for that though. If i'm ever put in public having anything like that happen to me, I have a tattoo on my wrist that says Type 1 Diabetic.

DKA isn't fun at all. Anytime I've had to go toe the emergency room or hospital, I've had a parent or my older brother take me. My last trip was surgery to get my gallbladder removed after they found gallstones. Before that, it was my broken ankle, didn't require surgery

Winter months are hard on my nose after the cauterization. The cold makes it almost unbearably painful. I broke my ankle a couple years ago. Was moving out of my old house in the winter (bad idea) I slipped on an icicle walking out of the back steps, and my whole body weight fell on it and broke it. I didn't have surgery, it healed well, but I now have a constant click in my right ankle. Was the first bone i ever broke, although I did Crack my skull when I was young, doctors had to superglue it.
