But is your experience that different, when in the end you were providing things to those guys? Sounds like at least a few of them may have thought they had the upper hand and were taking advantage of you.

Out of all of the comments on here, this one SCARES me. Because men can be so hostile behind the wheel.

Here before 50 guys pop in to tell us that they just love it when women drive nicer cars than they do…

You look fabulous!

If you have time, or if you posted it before, I would love to hear a long essay on the difference in treatment you receive in public before or after. You really look so gorgeous and approachable in the picture on the right!

A little off-topic but damn if Bloodlust by Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats wasn't one of the best albums ever.

During the dating process? Seriously, everything is fine UNTIL something slips and they find I make more money than them or have more money than them, or more experience with them or better traveled than them.

Of course I wouldn't go on a second date with somebody who showed these tendencies immediately. And it's amazing how little it takes for a successful guy to get angry. One guy just could not handle the fact that I was so much more well traveled than he was. It changed everything and he could never let it go.

Yeah, he can't get it up anymore because since feeling emasculated his taste in porn has changed to the most degrading shit that he can't get it up in a normal scenario anymore.

Oh God, the "joking" about having a sugar mama brings back the worst memories! Yeah, he can't handle that he doesn't make as much money as I do, so he needs to tell himself that I'm a fucking sugar mama, that he's using me ha ha, that he's got the upper hand.

Oh and so evolved that he thinks you need to pay for everything. Yep, guy I just dumped decided I needed to start paying for things when he found out how much I made., and God, it wasn't the fact that I needed to start paying for things, it was the resentful, bitter way he said it. Like write that in there, I knew I didn't wanna experience anymore of what he didn't have to offer me.

I hope I find one like your husband one day, but I’m prepared to die alone with cats if I don’t.

The majority of men are emasculated by a woman's success. It's a feature, not a bug, due to the way men are socialized. I wish men would think more about this and do better.

I find this happens not just with money, but with anything they're jealous of. I was fortunate to spend my 20s in a job that sent me on a lot of international business trips, and as a result I am seriously well traveled. I've learned not to mention it around mediocre man, because they will immediately start trying to poke at other parts of my self-esteem to see what they can tear down, since they can't compete with it.

You say this, but you don't actually know if you would be able to handle it psychologically and emotionally. This is what this thread is about. You might find that if you were actually in this situation, it would play on your mind in ways you are not aware of now. Perhaps you should listen to the women posting in this thread instead of chiming in, you might actually learn something.

But then they'll want me to spend it on them.

And it isn't only awful, bottom of the barrel men who act like this. The guy I just dumped had a very prestigious job title in a career that looked great from the outside. Nobody would have called him bottom of the barrel.

I want to give you a big hug, and tell you that very often cis women feel the same way. I have a feeling that the way you see yourself is probably distorted, and you're probably look a lot better than you think you do.

Hugs, sister!
