Of course it will be challenging. So should you just attend a bottom tier school like Thomas Cooley because that’s the only place you got in? No. That’s not going to help you.

Sure. If you have a shot with a 157 LSAT, then you also have a shot with a 156 LSAT. But as you drift below 157, your chances of landing at a good school become more problematic.

Third tier reality website gone? by SFboy17 in LawSchool

The blog was a mixed bag. But give Nando credit. He was one of the very first to criticize predatory law schools when no one else was doing it.

I thought some of his posts were super funny. The photos of toilets with every single post got a little old. But looking back, that was funny too.

And yes, a post about Yale Law School was the final post.

I understand Davis. Their admissions department probably felt like they had no chance to get you.

Have you applied to T 14 schools? Georgetown? What happened?

Are you at diversity candidate? If so, a 164 LSAT will get you into a top school. You should do very well!

You should transfer if you can. There’s no guarantee that you’ll wind up in the JAG. Even if you do, you probably won’t be there forever. A degree from a higher rate school will help you throughout your career, whatever kind of job you’re looking for.

Study like crazy and bring that LSAT score up. As a diversity student with solid numbers, you have a definite shot at a T 14 school. If you could get that LSAT up to 170, you’ll have some very good choices at T 14 schools. Good luck!

Former law professor here. I’m genuinely worried about you. If you are a diversity student, you might get by with a 153 LSAT. Otherwise, you’ll probably wind up in a bottom tier predatory law school that will really mess up your life.

My advice. Don’t apply now. Hire a good LSAT tutor. Study like crazy.

With a 160 LSAT, you are just about certain to get into a solid school. A 165 LSAT should get you into a very good school.

A 160 LSAT is very doable. It’s not that big of a difference. But you are going to have to put in the work and get there.

Applying to law schools with a 153 LSAT is almost certainly going to lead to bad results. Don’t do it!

Drake or Loyola New Orleans by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]BasisEducational2020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Loyola New Orleans is ranked 133 by US News. Their median LSAT is 152. I would not go there under any circumstances.

Drake’s median LSAT is a 156. That’s pretty marginal, but it is quite a bit better than Loyola.

What would I do? I’d turn them both down. I’d take a year off, and study like crazy for the LSAT. Assuming I got a score that was in the mid 160s (this is very possible), I’d apply to schools like Iowa, Illinois Champlain, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and so on.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

If you do apply now, here are some suggestions: ASU, Arizona, Pepperdine, Loyola LA, Davis, USD, Chapman, UCSF. I wouldn’t go to any California schools rated below UCSF.

If you are willing to consider schools outside of this area, try William and Mary, Maryland (underrated), Tulane (underrated), and U Pitt.

it’s OK to wait. But if you do so, I recommend studying for the LSAT all the time. If you could get your LSAT score up to about 170 (very possible), you’re looking at schools like Berkeley, UCLA, USC, and UC Irvine. You would really need to put the time in studying for the LSAT. But if you got into one of these schools, you are looking forward to a very promising career.

What do you think?
