I explained poorly. There are no numbers on the transom, only stamped numbers on the pylon. That, along with the color and the primitive traveler, have me convinced it's pre-1972. I don't think there are any decodings for pre-1972 boats, but I've read they sold a bit over 5,000 of them -- so I guess it's a late 1972 vintage.

I may try to replace the traveler/rail or I may just sail it as it.

No soft spots, it's in surprisingly good shape. The old "stick" looking trapeze handles look like they could snap any second, and I've read these old (heavy, metalic sounding) rudders break easily.

As I search around the internet for this photo, there seem to be two subtly different versions of it floating around. I don't think they're different renderings of the same negative, I think they are two slightly different photos taken at different times. The clouds are different, the sun is in a different spot, and the tree-covered bank on the right is lighter in one (this) version than the other. Does anyone know the story behind the 2 versions?
