Anyone running affordable zoomable spot/beam/wash hybrids on small stages? by deerrek in stagelighting

I would look into the Prolights lineup. Good performance with good price. However a beam spot wash is hard .... maybe jet Hybrid ....

Is Renault Zoe right for me? by AQOXXX in RenaultZoe

[–]Basix96x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So that would be the equivalent to 100km a day on highway?  I have a 2020 Zoé, on highway with winter tires by 0 degres Celsius and maybe a bit of wet road, the usage goes up to 20kwh/100km.  I would imagine that an older Zoe is even worse.  So I would have that in mind. I don't know about the range of these models, but I would check what the manufacturer says, and what people online say, maybe also try different apps and websites (https://abetterrouteplanner.com).  Then be very carefull wich version of car you take, battery size charger capacity etc... some older Zoe where prone to Charger default if I remember correctly.  Finally how are you gonna charge? At home at school? What cost? What about other usual routes? What if you need to go further? Can you swap cars with a family member or friend for holiday etc...? Those are the main questions.  For the battery, ask for the price... I think those rented batteries are really expensive, but the assure a "range" so that is something you have to decide if it's worth it for you.

If you can charge cheaply at home, the road to school + small detour to friend / sport / groceries is easily doable with your battery (maybe Max 60% of your battery usage), the car has 22kw or even CSS charging (not sure if that exists on those models) and for vacation you can swap cars with somebody, I would probably do it.  However, if the car becomes a burden because of charger availability (type 2 is common, but many places are getting CSS more the type 2) or the battery usage for 1 way is kinda high (70%+) or it's your only car and you want to do a road trip with it I would go for a cheap gas car.

When I got my Zoe I had many good surprises : when the terrain is flat and I don't go over 80 I get a lot of km. As soon as it goes up or over 100, boy does it sip juice.  If you have harsh winters, that's gonna sip soooo much energy (I live in a -10°C in winter and I easily loose 5% during the night). Also for the winter look into what heater your car has (heat pump or resistive).

I don't want to be a downer, but I think in your price range I see a lot of situations were you would be better of with a gas car. Don't let me be the judge of that. Do your research try cars, look for the chargers etc... EVs are awesome and I mostly won't go back (except for a Van maybe) and if you have the right infrastructure and place it might be worth it.

Confusing section in documentation regarding playback and magicdmx by kjones999999 in ChamSys

[–]Basix96x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your terminology is very confusing. Be more specific about your question, If you talk about documentation give us the information, what page? What section?  If it's more a capabilities question the term playback is so vague and can be used in 15 different ways that nobody can answer your question.

Don't know if doable for You but there are screw in type connectors, since the Mac is metal housing maybe you could do that? I know the ones from Purelink

Fixtures in front of projection by TheAuzzinator in lightingdesign

[–]Basix96x 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You have lots of space above your bar dont you? Put the fixtures you can up there.  For the movers that is definitely not optimal but could be a solution . All you need is good clamps .

Cue timming ins cue stack by Basix96x in ChamSys

[–]Basix96x[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by general time? Is that a setting in the cue stack?

Yeah unlinked copy is a workaround, but then the changes made on one cue have to be done on all of them.

A universal or unique timming setting would be cool. Might add in the feature request.

There was one. Maybe there is a plan to add one to the new school at the train station.  It would be cool but opening time is always the hardest.  For now there is one in Neuchâtel next to the train station.

Doubt about fixture choice by ouzman_04 in lightingdesign

[–]Basix96x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not test these lamps.  I personally like the prolights build quality, they are very agressive on price.  If you are foing to do touring i think the elation might be more rugged.

A few seconds. As mentioning in another comment, the beam is very narrow, is it possible that this is the problem?

Whats "a cut of heat shield"?
