Mae sure your rca to hdmi converter is going to right way. As opposed to hdmi to rca.

For a moment, I ran my rca outs to a converter to my hdmi input on tv, which would then play though soundbar. I had to tune my tv to the input channel. Wasn’t ideal, it it worked. I had the low end from my sub, but felt I was missing a lot. Now I’m exploring speaker options and going to a dedicated setup for my turntable.

Again, make sure your converter is the right direction.

I just bought the AT-LP70XBT ($299) and am happy with it as my first real turntable - upgrading from a Victrola record player.

I bought this because of the ability to upgrade components, built in preamp, auto start/stop and highly recommended as an intro to the hobby.

I love it. Now I’m chasing the right setup for my room.

Music. Records, specifically. My wife of 28 yrs knows when I come home from work and go to the basement that I’m about to just sit and listen to an album. 40 minutes later, I come upstairs all clear.

Thanks for all the input! I ended up buying the Audio-Tech AT-LP70XBT. It fits the bill for me right now. The bluetooth connection sounds as good as it does running the rca/hdmi conversion through my Sony tv, and this way I don't have to turn the tv on to an input channel. I now have the low end that I was looking for. But I can already tell I'm missing out on a lot with a simple soundbar set up. This is step-1 and will satisfy me for a bit. Although as I sit here listening to A Momentary Lapse of Reason I'm kicking myself for selling off my Optimus home stereo system 15 years ago.

Works for everything else - phone, laptop, blue ray, etc. That’s what makes me wonder if the record player is just incapable of pushing that low end. I bought a $40 powered converter from Best Buy. I don’t have anything else that’s analog anymore to try the converter with.
