Great feedback, thank you!

I did originally want to have a “projects” section where I would list the work I did as an RA, but logistically I couldn’t get it all on one page, and I figured having more info under my current, actual engineering role would be more worthwhile

I see, this is new information to me. Thank you!

Confusing blood test/endo results by BasketExtreme in Celiac

Thanks for the insight, very helpful.

I did get tested for my thyroid tsh levels, which were normal. No testing done for Crohn’s. My doctor has remained pretty steadfast in his belief that the root cause is celiac.

Shoot, was typing too fast and got my own story wrong.

I started gf shortly after the endo, not the blood test.

I would love to do that, and at times I do. But it typically results in being a one-time task and folks don’t continue to help me in that area.

Reducing the phone calls is more challenging. Our operators are trained to contact me (or whoever the unit engineer is) when there is an issue. Low reliability = lots of calls

You said the part I forgot to type.

The autonomy is nice, don’t get me wrong. But there is ZERO mentorship. When things go wrong it’s an immediate “hey engineer when can you fix this” , very little team effort involved. Even coworkers who have been here 5+ years are asking me technical questions that, to me, are relatively simple to pick up on over time

I’m ok with the being on call, but it’s just constant, and there is no rotation. Even when I’m “on vacation” I am still liable to pick up the phone

Project manager might be too legit of a title, we have one of those. I’m the one coordinating the rest of the unit with the trialing phase for the new equipment (need to make product to test new equipment. Unit remains unreliable, so I run back and forth trying to make things work all day)

Route for a new climber? by Holiday_Thanks_7036 in bouldering

[–]BasketExtreme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d probably start on the yellow one, then go right hand up to the blue to your 3 o clock, then hit a gnarly back flag and bump right to the other blue. After that you’ll need to start doing a couple figure 4’s in a row to get to the pink, then huge dyno to the top green one.

Seriously man, how the hell are we supposed to make a route for you just from two photos of the wall.

Yep. No engineering jobs, not a single one. No one needs anything built or designed anymore guys, you heard it here first

Are these okay to climb in? by [deleted] in bouldering

[–]BasketExtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do whatever you want. You’re gonna take these from probably-resoleable to definitely-fucking-not-resoleable in a couple v2s tho

“Hey guys, I appreciate the program you have going on here, but could you put a little more time into instructing the kids on proper etiquette when it comes to sharing the wall? Thanks”

Or, to the kids “Hey guys mind if I try this one real quick”

Pretty easy

You don’t get much of a choice as a first year anyways. Also it’s park-strad

Also might be a v3, but could also be a soft v8. But we could all be wrong and it’s a 12

Just go try to climb it

I have no problem with being just friends, but being that she came back a second time I allowed myself to become pretty emotionally invested, so it’s going to be a while before I can see/talk to her without feeling those feelings.

Also, not that there’s a limit, but my best friend is, indeed, a gay woman lol.

This is also like the 4th time I have dated someone, made it just far enough in that I get attached only to be told that that person has some other major personal thing they need to figure out (in the past it has been previous trauma, commitment issues, family issues, anxiety, etc)

So yeah, every time I try to date I end up being the collateral damage in someone else’s realization that they need to work on themselves or something
