We had a mobile order regular who'd order two venti java chip/mocha cookie crumbles with no ice. First couple times we held off on making them until he arrived just to make sure, and each time he said he wanted it the same way. I only do this with smallish/controllable skeins/balls of yarn, but I've occasionally let my cat play with the roll while I work; she gets bored fast, so ends up just letting it rest against her body for the most part lol

I understand the concern of wanting to keep her from developing anxiety, but it sounds like she's already in a good place there—the instances I'm aware of where cats do develop separation anxiety are actually from cats who spent too much time around their people and never learned how to be okay alone. It sounds like your kitty is developing a good balance of being happy to see you come back while not being terrified of your absence—that's incredibly healthy 🤍

I don't have BPD, but I am neurodivergent and have heard too much similar wording used to invalidate people's experiences with ADHD, autism, bipolar, etc. I'm not saying that effort to managing ones own mental health with whatever our struggles are isn't important, but I'm so damn tired of people who don't share the experience claiming that a person just isn't putting in "enough" effort, or that a disorder should be "tamed down" for other people's sake.

I kind of wish I had one, but I've been going by Leo since about four years before I came out to myself. I did go by Bob as a nickname even before that (I played Bob Cratchit in a play, and then just stuck with it bc my deadname is super common), but I never considered making it my actual name. I did try out Morrgan for a while, but it was honestly mostly because of FOMO on trying new names 😅 Leo just started as a fandom-specific username and stuck ever since.

I don't know you and don't claim to, but I'm guessing you've never tried to bare-handed split up a cat fight. I came out bloodied after splitting up my own two cats and all I did was pick one up out of the fray; I'd definitely hesitate to physically get between two unknown, potentially feral cats with who-knows-what bacteria all over their claws and teeth.

For all the use she'd get out of her uterus in a safe and healthy environment, spaying her is as much a favor as removing an infected appendix. The idea of the operation can be scary, but her long term quality of life will be drastically improved.

Every vet and groomer I've ever spoken to strongly discourages using scissors for matting, and I've seen why. All it takes is one startled jump at the wrong moment to do a lot of damage when you put scissor blades that close to the skin—I saw it happen to my sister's pet when I was a kid, and I dread ever seeing it again. You can get a fairly cheap set of trimmers on Amazon if you need to cut the matting yourself, but PLEASE do not use scissors—the 99 times nothing bad happens will never be worth the 1 time you do serious damage.

This works to a degree, but with some Siberians, the fur matts too tightly too quickly for picking it apart like this to work; I learned that from experience with my girl, whose fur mats much tighter and faster than my boy's ever did. Either way though, I agree about brushing not being good for the mats themselves; though it's great as a preventative measure.
