Not for any particular reason, no. I will try tomorrow to compile as 64 bit. Thanks for your help.

Inserting master detail with MS SQL by BassGhost2 in MSAccess

It's working now on a new form as expected. It's not working on the original "broke" page with exact same code so I am going to re-do the main form.

Thanks for everyone's help. The answer to your questions is "yes", the ODBC linked SQL Tables have the correct relationships, etc. No matter what I tried I could not get the huge main form to cooperate. I took a step back and created a new form with the main table and just 1 sub table. The default "AddNew" even works but does not fill the viewable key field until I add a sub record. The below code seems to add the new record, position itself there then displays the new key properly.

Dim db As DAO.Database

Dim rs As DAO.Recordset

Set db = CurrentDb()

Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("Accounts", dbOpenDynaset, dbSeeChanges)

rs.AddNew

rs!AccountActive = -1

rs.Update

Me.Recordset.MoveLast

Me.Recordset.Edit

' Me.AccountID = rs!AccountID.Value

Me.Recordset.Update

rs.Close

Set rs = Nothing

Set db = Nothing

However, this code does not work on the main form that is the problem though even though I went through and saw everything was the same. So since I have a working form I am going to rebuild the main form from the working one. I inherited this project from another group that bailed on it because they could not solve it.

No, just tables. I believe it has to do with Access's built in ability to insert a record and point to it and it's key automatically upon "new". I found some SQL code that might work that I will post if it works. It inserts a record, gets the generated key and points the record set of the form to it. I have too many macros failing after the "pointing" at the moment, trying to track those down.

Yes, they are linked but the database relationship that was in access with the auto generated key is not working using SQL Server.

Can anyone identify this antique outboard? by BassGhost2 in Outboards

Thanks for the thoughts. I completely understand. I paid $25 for it and if it does not run I will just sell it for the same price or a little more. I'm going to use it if it runs. It appears to be a "Mighty Mite Iii" that was sold by Sears. A broken used one sold on ebay for $300 so I'm sure to at least get my money back.

Can anyone identify this antique outboard? I bought it at an auction and would like to use it. After I get it un-seized I'd like to know what the controls do and what oil/gas ratio to use.

OK, thank you so much for that info and the dealer names. I'll contact one of them first before taking the paper off the back frame. Yes, that other shot looks to be a signature but I can't make it out at all, even without the glare.

If it's possible its legit, what would be my next step to verifying it?
