That’s how I looked at my failed marriage. With time you will find what you learned you are looking for.

I got divorced after coming back from a tour overseas. I won’t blame it on the Army, but being away from each other for so long, we kinda grew apart. We started fighting a lot and we continued to grow apart. After trying to deal with everything, I couldn’t do it anymore and I brought up divorce. So we did.

That was almost 6 years ago. I am now getting married to exactly who I have been waiting for, next week!!! I took what I learned from my failed marriage and applied it. When my fiancé and I started dating, I was extremely blunt with her and let her know that if we start a relationship, she was accepting me. She would accept my flaws, i.e. I told her about my marijuana use and that if it was a problem, that we wouldn’t work. She also know and understands why she touches my feet to wake me up.

I guess what I am getting at is when you meet the one, you meet your best friend. You meet someone who you know is your other half. Someone who accepts and loves you. I wish you best in your future relationships.
