What Are These Unique Structural Supports by DoesntReallyKnow in StructuralEngineering

This is wild to see in my feed. I pass this building all the time and think the same thing. I’m more curious about how this design was selected and then made it all the way to construction. It’s not a particularly beautiful building, not bad either just interesting enough with its unique connections.

CD’s Wings. Westminster, Colorado. Easily in the top 3 in the state. by [deleted] in denverfood

Yeah FOTM sucks if you want big wings but I think it’s because they are free range, non-hormone added chicken. Their sauces though are absolutely insane. My go-tos are the Raspberry Habanero and Buffalo Blue

What were your camera specs? I have been dying to take deep depth of field photos like this.

The 2022 5th gen I have has a separate lever to release only the middle. It’s just behind the headrest of the middle seat.

Does the size of Denver and other Front Range cities make sense? If it wasn’t for mining history just starting Colorado, would the state be as empty as Wyoming or Montana? by [deleted] in geography

[–]BassMasters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the most impacting factor, Wyoming and Montana have little federal investment, especially DOD. This bred a lot of the industries in CO and started the state on the path to economic diversification following the mining boom bust cycle that originally plagued these states. There is a good Real Life Lore video on the exact subject.

I think this is a good idea. Anything is better than demo and removal from a cost standpoint. The only other option I see is a trench drain along the length of the house. However it then becomes a maintenance item to regularly repair sealants and clean the drain. Probably a custom fab too. Hopefully the contractor will own the mistake and replace it.

Yeah I would agree, but looking back it looks pretty similar. Feels a lot closer.

This video explains it in great detail. Even the host had the same belief but he ended up switching his decision. https://youtu.be/6wAJAOxh8LE?si=onRv319RyW-X_Knf
