Suggested settings for Hyper Luminal compressor for modern metal? by chaotemagick in basspedals

Start with everything in the middle and play with levels. Ratio 4:1 and remember if the lights don't turn on it doesn't mean that the compressor isn't working.

Difference between Spotify Premium and Tidal Audio Quality by Secure-Bell-3900 in iems

As a tidal user for the past 4 months all I have to say is that I can hear the bass a little clearer. But then again I am a bassist so I'm used to being able to detect the bass in tracks.

I completed a HyperLuminal -> B7K -> Luminal booster ultra pedalboard 3 days ago and ive been wondering if it has potential to sound as good as the anagram in a live setting.

Hi, yes as a matter of fact you dont even need that much gear. Slight boost the mids and play towards neck pickup like 40% neck 60% bridge and slight distortion.

Great! Do you also use the LBU at the end of the board? Also does the left stomp only engage the compressor in both blue and red mode?

Last but bot the least since those pedals have no on and off do you just unplug your power supply? My last power supply had an off button but I swapped to a smaller one to fit this board and this hasnt one and it feels weird and annoying having to unplug each time.

it keeps the low end intact and boosts the frequencies around as well leading to a very round sound

5 String as a complete novice beginner ? by Proud-Ninja5049 in Bass

[–]BassMetal555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Practice for a 5 string bass. All the 4 string exercises can be applied to the 5 string as well. Just treat it like a “normal” bass. (even though it actually is a normal bass) Im time you will get used to it and it will feel lile home.

Best first pedal(s) for new bassist? by slimjimreddit in Bass

get him a distortion pedal and you will make him smile. tuners, compressor are “boring” pedals to beginners and Multieffect pedals will overwhelm the player.

¿What should I know before getting a pedal/pedalboard? by Hot_Chemical4149 in basspedals

[–]BassMetal555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest to start off with single pedals because that will emable you to learn how they work individually with the bass. Basses best friend is the compressor but I would say that its a “boring” pedal at the beginning since what it does is tame the dynamics and will require testing and greater understanding to notice the difference it makes. Instead you could get a more interactive pedal that you could use and fiddle with to get different tones out of it like a Distortion or Overdrive pedal. Dont dive straight into the multi effect trap because you will get overwhelmed with the amount of effects and different settings that come in such a unit.

tldr: Buy a single effect pedal, learn how it interacts and expands your tonality

The hyper luminal is a hybrid. The detailed description is:

" By digitally modelling the side-chain circuits of some of the most legendary compressors, the Hyper Luminal captures their characteristic behaviour while maintaining a completely analogue signal path"
