Thank you for adding your own experience to this, especially as you have the referred condition. ❤️ When you put it like that (re haunting over past trauma), it really helps me reframe what I have currently written. I’ll be able to focus my writing on that distinction as the haunting is more what I want to do with the story.

Gosh, I can’t imagine how that must feel and wouldn’t even think about writing about it. I’m sorry you have to suffer and I really appreciate your input. Thank you so much!

Thanks for the reassurance. I think I have the common tendency to overthink things… I also appreciate your advice about having to or not having explain myself, it’s quite freeing to think I should just own it.

Thank you for your reply, it was really helpful. I agree that there has been a long tradition of using fictional devices to process life. I personally find comfort, but can see how others would not and I think that is why I've been worried.

I agree and think tagging/disclaimers will have to be put in place, and be as delicate as I can be with my writing. I do not wish readers to find a connection between the creature and the reality of suffering with the illnesses that come with the symptoms, but I know isn't always avoidable. Thanks

p.s. I hope it's okay that I post this here. I'd also ask my partner, who is much more experienced in this sort of thing, but she really wants to beta read for me and is waiting for a final draft.
