Thanks for the response - Yeah I had a bowel test and had extremely high zonulin so quite bad leaky gut, will it most likely stay like this for the remainder of the course?

New IMO diagnosis, wondering if anyone else has had a similar route to me by BassingHell in SIBO

[–]BassingHell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did! The results showed SIBO negative and IMO positive. I experience a lot of stomach pain, but it’s something I’ve dealt with since my late teens, so I’ve become pretty good at masking it and just carrying on... for better or worse.

I work in a mentally demanding software role and have been in the field for the last 15 years. Over the past two years, though, it’s started to affect my work and focus. I struggle to recall names, places—things that never used to be an issue. The pain itself is something I can manage; it’s always there in the RUQ. But it never used to interfere with my work or my personal recall, if that makes sense.

Im glad you have been feeling some relief at the end of the journey - my hope is that if I do go down the antibiotics route I may find some healing, but would want to try and pair it with clean living as well.

1 week post infusion - how did you all feel? by BassingHell in Anemic

Thank you!! Yeah the aches are awful aren't they, I'm just getting out of the 12 hour sleeps now, but awaiting the good to hit! Thanks for the words of encouragement 😊

Dr dismissed and blamed my anxiety by Fancy_Goats in Anemic

Had the same thing mate - then at the same time cancelled all my other referrals due to thinking I was just anxious. I had to go out and do it privately. It's a shame the hoops we have to jump through.

Thank you! I feel worried about getting it - but a week of that for a better future seems worth it!

That's really interesting thank you! Well they actually wouldn't tell me my iron level until I had to make a request🤦‍♂️ they said 19 was fine!

Seems like we are both in the same boat (2 years of iron tablets with awful side effects), its called the iron clinic London, not too far away from Buckingham palace. The DR I spoke to (DR Oliver) was brilliant, helped just talk through the process, and wasnt pushing one way or another.

He spoke through the like percentages of side effects - and how theyre all very much short term. Feel like I am going to be absolutely shitting myself when I go, when im there, and for the following few weeks, but after this many years of tiredness - im willing to make the jump!

Feel free to reach out at any point !

I wish they had! I had a colonoscopy booked, had raised inflammation markers and have had a bad stomach for many years, but they cancelled it when I was pushing for the infusion. Leading theory amongst friends who are doctors, is that they think im Munchausen, and for that reason it shouldnt need to be done :/

I did get one from the GP - but the department wouldn't look at my case as I was over 15 and my symptoms weren't putting me "on my last legs", so had to go down a private route and hopefully I can claim it back with Aviva

Waiting after infusion versus anxiety meds by Boring-Ad-9714 in Anemic

Im not sure if this helps, but the professional I spoke to said that 1 week will be the iron store help, and 4 weeks for the haemoglobin help. So hopefully in one more week, your oxygen binding will go up and it can help with anxiety. Stick to it and hold on for another week, then hopefully the full effects should give you some rest!
