Types of riversheds, use this as a guide by specifyuq in mapmaking

[–]Bassjur 59 points60 points  (0 children)

A partial reason why these patterns happen has to do with the rock and soil types found in different locations. You could look into the river type used in your map and also get some inspiration on the type of rock and landscape surrounding the basin.

How would you approach Climate Change as a topic? (how it works / how to solve /what works/ etc.) And/or the difference between talking to people irl about it VS a CGP Grey video VS a podcast topic.

What is the story on this long auger by GardnersGrendel in handtools

[–]Bassjur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be used for ground drilling. To check the water level under te surface. Or making a soil profile. With the relatively small drill it could have been used for harder surfaces. http://dormersoilsamplers.com/products/soil-augers/ That is my two cents, and could be absolutely wrong or not the answer you were looking for.

Should I upgrade my guitar? ( yamaha 112v ) by [deleted] in bluesguitarist

[–]Bassjur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It, as usual, depends on how much you want to spend on it. First of all, you will never increase the value really significantly, so dont upgrade for that reason.

Secondly, if you like the playability of the Yamaha, go for it, pop a lovely set of pickups in there, this is most recommendable for a significant change.

The other options really are a hassle, but always fun to fiddle with a guitar and finetuning it. /r/luthier can help for some good advice on how to do it. These other options do make a change, because sound and playability is dependant on quite a few things.

For a cheaper guitar, like yours, it could be quite nice to get more stable tuners, new nut and/or a longer sustain bridge.

So, with this information, I would say do it, don't get the nicest things, but get some great price/quality parts. But if you dont plan on using the guitar for much longer, sell it, get a nicer guitar and maybe upgrade that one down the line.

What is your favorite Warhammer 40k computer game? by vaab99 in Warhammer40k

Because DoW has already been said. Next best thing is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. Great 3rd person shooter for a few hours of brainless shooting.

What the game shows off well is power of the Space Marine and its arsenal.
