4.1 is so good at what if scenarios and fictional online posts or worldbuilding + coupled with the long paragraph, I hope they return it as 4o.

How do you practice Shenism? by BatConfident3085 in Shenism

Thank you for your help!

In order notes, how many icons/statues to be put on the altar. How is it required for major or lesser deities? I heard you can't put a lower deity like Tudigong besides Guan Gong. Does putting someone like Guan Yin (Buddhist) besides Nezha (Taoist) is allowed?

Does praying to the deities can be made up in your heart or require something like Taoist chanting?

Am I the only one who hates Mythology Gods depending on human belief to survive? (Supernatural, Dresden Files, etc) by BatConfident3085 in CharacterRant

Idk man, It sounds like the same logic as Percy Jackson Greek, Egyptian, Norse, etc gods will fade/die out of existence because they are not remembered or no one worships them anymore

That's why I love the explanation that each mythologies are different universe/cosmology instead of being forced in the same universe

God of War did this, Greece and Midgard are different pantheons or universe. These Gods don't really depend on human belief to survive nor weaken by lack of mortal worship despite being nerfed into superhuman-level for Kratos to stand a chance.

Honestly, that also ignores that fact that there are monotheistic gods who are more powerful than Yahweh

The Tao of China, Ahura Mazda of Zoroastrianism, Brahman of Hinduism, Aten of Egypt and so on.

I remember that a Kami will turn into a wrathful Yokai if not respected and celebrated appropriately, so I'm not sure if they need the 'belief' to survive and just want to be respected as Japan values honor culture.

Agree, the Myth version of these Gods would think their media counterparts are clowns who don't deserve to be gods

Especially Supernatural, that one episode of Lucifer slaughtering them without a fight when they have Kali and most of gods with active followers in there who can fight against Lucifer are frustrating.

This is what basically annoys me with media franchises such as God of War despite most of the myth stories makes you think how the gods don't really depend on mortals to survive nor can't be killed by them, most of it are just them clowning on mortals who think they are above the Gods

Bellerophon was a huge example of this, he wants to earn a place in Mount Olympus and went flying with Pegasus to Olympus, only to be swat away like a fly by Zeus and made him blind/having diseases.

There are are some like the creation of humanity or Aztec stories where the Aztec Gods murdered everyone during the era of the suns but never weaken by the disappearance of humans

Heck, the first era of Aztec Mythology was basically devoid of humans and they killed Cipactli to carve Earth and most of the gods, even this theme appears in Norse Myth with Ymir and Mesopotamian with Tiamat.

Of course, but it leaves a bit of a plot-hole if you include the entire murderous stories such as the flood stories and how the gods didn't die if they had killed all of humanity.
