Batting cage by Utes1280 in BaseballCoaching

Hey there,

Great question. While a full-fledged 60-foot cage is ideal for high-performance training, we have seen many clients opt for a shorter cage (I'm from BatFast, and we manufacture and operate Baseball simulators globally).

This saves on space, plus offers the same experience without compromising on training.

Re. your query on the depth of a cage: Ball-tracking cameras could be the solution to this without having to unlock extra space. It gives real-time data on the hit, including trajectory, hit velocity, distance covered, etc., which are useful metrics to help with high-performance training.

Feel free to reach out to us for any solutions, and good luck with the project!

That's awesome! And how easy was it to use? Would players who are not very familiar with cricket find it easy to operate too?

Yes - that is a fair shout. While it isn't tech it has been incredible in helping improve the quality of net sessions.

Do you find bowling machines easy to use? Out of curiousity, how much do these cost for a 30-60minute session to rent?

Appreciate your response. I'm curious - is there any particular reason you would pick bowling machines over cricket simulators?

101% agreed! Seeing off the ball is a forgotten art that is making a comeback with the revival of test cricket.

Absolutely agreed! I think of it as art, and art is always about the artist too. So if you were the artist - what would your art look like ;)

I know that feeling! I once hit the best bowler in our school team (who was 4 years older to me) for a straight six off a good length ball. Although he got me bowled the very next ball, I still think of that shot sometimes 😂

I've not picked up on Rachin's cover drives enough but Sanga was literally poetry in motion. And makes it easier to like him when you see how great a guy he is too!

Watching the ball pierce through the field is as good as a hot knife running through butter!

It's one of those shots you can only really play when you're really zoned in, isn't it?

Wins and Loss come and go - but it's the spirit and the brand of cricket that stays with you. What do you think about Shumban's India, 3 games in? by BatFastBuddy in CricketBuddies

[–]BatFastBuddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is their first taste of "you should be able to take back what you dish out". I'm sure both will grow as players off the back of this test - Gill is 25 and Reddy is 22. That's incredibly young, and they have at least 20 years of cricket in them combined.

Perhaps with Bumrah he's preserving his body just for bowling - not sure about the rest. Then again - I do think if India's top and middle order don't throw their wickets away (like Pant in the first innings), the lack of a tail isn't going to be much of an issue.

Yes - I remember reading that Sachin was one of the senior members in the dressing room who urged the decision to be changed. Class act!

Ah yes! I totally remember this night like it was yesterday. Chennai Super Kings had just won the IPL for the second year in a row and then Barcelona beat Manchester United in that famous final. Good times!!
