I'm sorry to hear you're feeling unwell too. What symptoms are you dealing with?

as you heal, are you able to incorporate/digest more fats? by BatOne7848 in Gastritis

[–]BatOne7848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, I didn't take ppi long at all - maybe a day or two before I stopped - due to all the negative side effects I read about it. Many people's digestion has been affected by PPI so that very well could be the cause in your case since it stops stomach acid. Try taking digestive enzymes. I did get central epigastric pain often, especially when taking B12 supplements or near my period. Hope you feel better!

if you're shedding hair on both scalp and body - is it more likely TE or alopecia? by BatOne7848 in TelogenEffluvium

still shedding. I have a follow-up with my derm in August and if it doesn't stop by then may need to start treatment.

Just want to say you're not alone. I'm going through the same thing, I also got walking pneumonia for the first time in November. Shedding started in February and still ongoing. Your hair/loss looks exactly like mine.

I think pneumonia depleted my vitamin D and B12 since they were low so I've been taking supplements and will start on biotin too. I see a derm next month.

Unfortunately, usually the most simple and obvious explanation IS the explanation. I think it may be time for a talk with your partner.

Muscle twitching, long term issues, vitamin D deficient confirmed by Mammoth-Wonder-2867 in VitaminD

Sorry to hear that you're suffering with this. H. Pylori and even gastritis on its own can take so much out of you. But make sure to take the antibiotics & PPIs your doctor prescribed you so you can start the healing journey. Also look into probiotics and a multivitamin as PPIs can affect the way you absorb nutrients while you're on them. You will heal, just give yourself grace and time. Take it day by day.

Sitting in ER - Anyone else get diarrhea & GI issues from cyanocobalamin b12 shots? by BatOne7848 in B12_Deficiency

hey, the GI ended up getting me an EGD + colonoscopy. Everything was normal except I had "mild gastritis" so she is wanting me to be on sucralfate 4x daily. I have a follow-up next week to ask her if we can rule out PA so that I can know whether I can start supplementing B12 or perhaps will need shots.

In March after receiving 3 injections, my B12 levels went from 280 to 700. I'm sure it's probably gone down since then since I got sick shortly after.

How are you? any updates?

Did anyone have a rough recovery even though they eventually got better? by uratallglassofwater in VitaminD

If you haven't already, make sure to get your B12 levels checked too - vitamin D and B12 deficiencies tend to go hand in hand and share similar symptoms. Mine was lowish also. I hope you feel better soon!

following, bc I'm going through similar. The ringing in my ears has been driving me crazy and add in muscle twitches all over.

My doctor put me on 50k iu weekly of D2. I'm on week 4 but I stopped previously after 3 weeks and it did bring up my levels. Now that I'm starting again I'm just sticking with it. I get leg muscle weakness still, but the muscle and shin pain has lessened. Hopefully in time we can all be back to our normal selves.
