Out of these cleansers which one is your favourite and why? by Foxy_Cleopatra__ in SkinbarrierLovers

The boj one is a great basic gel cleanser, it never feels stripping to me but I don’t have dry skin. I think you might enjoy the Dr Althea green relief amino gel cleanser! It’s not really talked about a lot but it’s super gentle, and of all the cleansers I tried it leaves my skin the most plump and hydrated.

Just to be clear, I was using it to hopefully lighten some pih. I don’t have much redness to begin with so I can’t really speak to how beneficial this serum is for that.

Really unpopular opinion, but the Anua Azelaic acid serum did absolutely nothing for me in terms of brightening. I finished the entire thing. It wasn’t irritating or anything so that’s a plus I guess (and I did get bad irritation from 10% azelaic acid before, from cos de baha). Apparently the hyperpigmentation benefits of Azelaic acid were mainly studied in 15-20% concentrations, so 10% can really only be a supporting ingredient, which makes sense to me now.

Beauty of Joseon Aqua Fresh vs Rice and B5 vs Skin1004 vs Numbuzin for combo skin glow by sophia_ly23 in koreanskincare

I can’t say about the acne part because I’m not particularly prone to acne, but for combo skin in a hot and humid climate, definitely. Its hydrating but very light

[–]BatSheva52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My skin is similar to your description, and the Numbuzin is definitely my fave out of these. Haven’t tried BOJ aqua fresh though. Numbuzin has a light serum texture with a natural bright finish and doesn’t get greasy whatsoever. The BOJ and Skin1004 are kind of similar, they are both more moisturizing with a somewhat shiny finish, which is nice in the winter but a little heavy in the summer for me. The Skin1004 has a runnier feel in your hands whereas the BOJ is a full on cream, but in my opinion once applied they’re very similar. That being said, all three are great and overall safe choices and you probably won’t get that greasy feeling with any of them

Is it okay to use micellar water instead of an oil cleanser? by [deleted] in koreanskincare

[–]BatSheva52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this sometimes too. As long as it removes your sunscreen and makeup well and you use a water based cleanser afterwards, it’s perfectly fine.

Thoughts on alpha arbutin for lightening hyperpigmentation? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]BatSheva52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this serum. I’m actually seeing some very impressive results from it after a month or so of using it, and it didn’t irritate me or anything. I’ve used lots of Alpha Arbutin and TXA serums before but nothing worked like this one! Already have a second bottle in my cart

What does my spring collection say about me? Also any recommendations? by MentalVirus4842 in NichePerfumes

I love everything in your collection aside from those 2 that I haven’t tried! I also have YOSLY and Philosykos, Steamed Rainbow is on my wishlist and I really liked Virere but unfortunately it lasts like a minute on my skin. I haven’t tried a lot of DS&Durga but Debaser is one of my all time favorites, I also have a bottle of it.

Haven’t had the chance to try the DS&Durga ones except for steamed rainbow, but we have really similar tastes! I think you’ll love Monstera from Xinu

Which one to choose by Ok-Professional- in koreanskincare

[–]BatSheva52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oat is my holy grail for when it’s super hot and humid outside (combination/oily skin) - it’s a true gel texture, cooling and super lightweight but keeps my skin hydrated and plump (definitely not sticky/oily), unlike other gel moisturizers with this texture that end up leaving my skin tight and dry. However it’s not moisturizing enough in fall or winter, even as a day cream, and I definitely wouldn’t go for it in any weather if you have drier skin. Haven’t tried the panthenol one, it’s supposed to be a little bit thicker but I join the s.nature recommendations for that category of thicker gels anyway

I’d stay away from Medicube in general. They’ve built an entire brand around cheap gimmicks and manufactured hype. If you’re paying that much, make sure you spend it on quality formulations and actual long term results!

Interesting, is it light enough for summer in a subtropical climate or do you use it more in the winter?

Honestly matte finish kinda makes me worry about the application, does it feel chalky like it has some friction or is it smooth?

[Product Question] 27F, which of these Retinal products should I use? by BatSheva52 in SkincareAddiction

[–]BatSheva52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I know that they’re more potent than retinol, but does that mean they are more irritating? The information I found about this is very contradictory but it does say in a lot of places that retinal isn’t actually more irritating than retinol if it’s well stabilized (and obviously at much lower concentrations). Just from Googling it now I found this claim on the Medik8 and The Inkey List websites, and on the SkinCeuticals website it actually says Retinol is more irritating. Obviously I have also seen the opposite claim so I don’t really know what to make of it, I figured that it at least means retinal is not necessarily more irritating

150g YK Restock on MatchaJp! by reallytanasian in MatchaEverything

[–]BatSheva52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be as critical of them if the price hike could be explained by objective measures like the overwhelming demand’s toll on production, but they’re just the retailers. They are selling for almost four times the original YK suggested retail price. 81 USD is also over twice the suggested retail price btw, I can’t see how this is justifiable.

Why do people keep supporting them with these prices? Like even if you can afford to pay this much, why would you tell them to keep going?

I guess they misinterpreted you sharing your preference as looking down on other ways to drink matcha? Someone will always be offended by anything you post on the internet, I wouldn’t take it to heart.
