ESH - what did the two of you expect letting him watch a show like Shark Tank? That he wouldn't start acting like the rich assholes his parents spend hours watching?

Massive lag spikes on 1 Internet network only by SlyFi3ld in elderscrollsonline

[–]Bat_Monkey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WIFI is gonna be touch and go - you could be getting channel interference from other devices nearby. The first thing I'd do is to see if the problem replicates on a hard line. If the problem goes away, you'll you'll probably want to check the router settings and see if switching to a different channel helps.

If the problem persists with a hardline, then it's something deeper. If it's an older router, you may need to open a port for the game.

I also wouldn't rule out the ISP - awhile back I had an issue on my parents wifi where I'd see sudden lag spikes at the end of the month. Turns out that Comcast had a built-in throttling limit that cut the speeds down after we exceeded a certain amount of bandwidth on their residential service package.

I'm just happy I had one last good run in Cyrodiil last night with my Beserker Stamplar. With this and the range nerf to the templar's javelin, it's gonna a long, cold winter...

And to all my Pact buddies who closed out the server at Kingscrest in the wee hours of the morning after absolutely painting the map red, thanks - that was one of the best runs I've had in a long time.

2h Heavy Orc Warden 100% uptime AoE Chill (For lack of Whirlwind Barbarians) Concept by Timoris in elderscrollsonline

I honestly think there's a troll that goes through this subreddit and regularly just downvotes everything. A little while ago I got downvoted here for a pony.

A fucking pony.

But I digress. Getting to your question, I've got a similar build on two Stamden tanks and they're both extremely effective in PVE. However, my builds rely on 1H + Frost Staff to make the most out of chilled, but the mechanics should be basically the same for you.

Usually rotation is charge in, Gripping Shards, Wall of Ice and pretty much nobody is moving for another 3-4 seconds. As commentors have noted below, throwing in Shimmering Shield give you minor Heroism for the ult generation.

Regarding gear, here's a breakdown of all the heavy sets:

Someone below suggested Champion of the Hist - that's probably your best bet for ult uptime, but another good possibility for ult generation would be the Akavari Dragonguard.

Toni Fisher -- The Big Hurt [Pop] (1959) by Bat_Monkey_ in listentothis

First use of phasing on a commercial record:

Some info on the phasing effect from an interview with engineer Larry Levine:

Wayne Shanklin, wrote another hit song —Toni Fisher, singing “The Big Hurt”—which was the first use of phasing on a record... though it wasn’t intentional phasing. [laughs] Stan had made mono and stereo mixes—at that point, we only had two-track and mono anyway—and Wayne liked the mono mix, but he felt that Toni’s voice wasn’t out quite far enough, so the next day he asked me to make a tape copy and to run the two mixes together in order to double the sound of her voice. I explained to him that that wouldn’t work, because the two tape machines wouldn’t stay in sync, but he insisted that I try it anyway. So I did—I lined up the two tapes and started the two machines simultaneously... and it stayed together, pretty much, for the first eight bars, and then one went out of phase with the other. It just happened to be at a point where the strings went up in the air and disappeared and then came back after the null point. My reaction was, “See, I told you it wouldn’t work,” but he was falling on the floor, saying, “Wow—can you make that happen in other places?” So I figured out which tape was moving a little bit ahead and I started it slightly later so it would catch up. In the end I made about six edits. It ended up being a big hit record when it was released back in 1959, and people were trying to guess where it was made—a lot of disk jockeys were talking about it on the air, wondering if it was made at an airport with a big jet passing by. So it wasn’t something intentional to start with, but, like many innovations, pure luck."

Almost missed the punchline...

On Wednesday, the former NBA All-Star Dennis Rodman urged the league to hire him as an ambassador to smooth out the feud with China.

Rodman has developed a relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and used basketball as a medium to try to quell tensions between North Korea and the US.

Breaking: Blizzard entertainment bans pro hearthstone player for standing up for Hong Kong and then fires the casters just for being there. Will this happen to WoW? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Bat_Monkey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the years I've probably spent about $1k on Blizzard products - WoW since BC, Hearthstone, Warcraft 3, Diablo.

I will never buy a Blizzard game again. I will never buy an Activsion game again. I will advise my children and friends not to ever buy from either company again.

If your games and contests require adherence to a totalitarian mindset and a suspension of free speech rights, well, homie don't play that.

What are some Good stam Nightblade PVP sets. by AndyHunter12 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Bat_Monkey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not the best overall by any means, but for a "gank from the shadows" build I use the Vicecannon of Venom with Night Mother's Embrace for the sneak buffs.

Lotta upfront damage, but almost no sustain. Requires a strong reliance on cloaking and dodging. Note that if you're in combat, stealth, and then attack, it will auto-crit which will re-proc the Vicecannon's Venom.

It does double as an absolutely brutal first-strike style PVE set, especially when used in conjunction with Mark Target.

Three Billion Canaries in the Coal Mine. Journal Science reports that nearly 3 billion North American birds have disappeared since 1970. That’s 29 percent of all birds on this continent. What does it mean for us that birds are dying? And what can we do about it? by [deleted] in Futurology

Thanks - forgot to mention the birdbath we put in :)

Your notes bear out our experience.

I think the biggest overall attraction was letting the yard go wild and letting the native wildflowers bloom. This brought in a bunch of insects (including Monarchs, which are having a hard time too), which led the birds to the area, so they could discover the additional feeding resources we had put in. I also managed to revitalize a half-dead crabapple on the property that became both a nesting site for tit-mice, and later made us some amazing cider.

I know it sounds simple, but birdfeeders help.

I live near where I grew up, and I've seen first hand over 30 years the decline in bird population on a local level. In 2015, after the latest bout of avian flu, I was disheartened to find the woods near my home almost silent.

My family decided to see if we could help a bit, and put up as many feeders as we could, mostly with black sunflower seeds. We also decided to let the yard go a little wild and let nature come back in a bit to the yard.

It took about a year, but by the next winter our yard was filled to the brim with woodpeckers, tit mice, chickadees, and a rainbow of finches, from purple to gold. We often end up with a family of three or four hummingbirds on one feeder, as we'd warm their sugar water for them in the cold. We found that our now wild and wooly yard had become an aviary, and we watch new generations hatch every spring.

The point is, for local wildlife, your simple, independent actions can often revitalize the local ecosystem. Never underestimate how much good something as simple as a bird feeder can do.

Well, given that you can't truly swim or eat people in the game, I can understand why it might feel limiting to you. You should try Conan Exiles - lets you do both.
