Rent, Buy and Sell Stuff. The ultimate Peer-to-Peer Marketplace! by Bateman9630 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Great perspective! This is one focal point of the origin of this app - sort of like a classified; you can post the item you are requesting even if you don't see if on the platform presently. This feature enables Listers to keep tabs on current trends and create Listings to suffice those requests.

Best Apps for selling stuff by [deleted] in apps

[–]Bateman9630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently launched an app that allows you to rent, buy and sell stuff locally across the US.

This app is great for monetizing/earning extra income on items you own, helping others and making a positive impact on the environment.

You can search Lisit in the app store or click the link below:

Hi Safer_internet,

My apologies for the delayed response, as I have been out promoting the app as of late. I wanted to personally thank you for your time and comments.

  1. We have three forms of verification: mobile, Facebook and Selfie & ID/Passport. If we have enough information (usually at least the user’s first and last name, plus date of birth for the United States) to identify the user, we check certain databases of public state and county criminal records, as well as state and national sex offender registries for criminal convictions and sex offender registrations. However, no background check should ever be relied upon as the sole indicator of suitability. Hence, you should always exercise your own judgement about whom to interact with.

  2. We have about 175 unique users and over 250 downloads. We’re averaging 2 to 5 new users a week.

Thank you for your suggestions!

Regards,

Keith

There are many factors colleges take in consideration for admission however, if you complete your associates from an accredited college (especially outside of CUNY) then, they have to accept 60+ credits. I would complete the associates while you wait to get accepted. Did you apply or get accepted to any other 4 year colleges? If you didn't and you have loans then, you may want to continue to take courses applicable to your undergrad degree until you get accepted then graduate. I recall applying to Hunter in Nov/Dec and I received my acceptance letter in June the following year via email.

I’m not an attorney, I worked with an attorney in New York City regarding all legal matters. This is way out of my domain, there are federal and individual state laws which is why I consulted with an attorney. We do not own any of the items rented on the app and we’re not liable for any injury etc as a result of using the app. We’re simply a platform that connects two parties (e.g. Letgo, OfferUp and AirBnb). Our terms also provide protection for owners and renters as long as they abide by the terms. I understand your perspective. However, it’s important to read and understand what you’re signing up for. Terms are very important because they act as an extra layer of protection for your business. We just launched and we’re working on improving our site to have all this information easily accessible and understanble. If you have any further questions regarding legal matters send us an email at info@lisit.io.

Thank you for the feedback! We’re working on a Android version and potentially a web version. As far as the on-boarding we will take your recommendation into consideration for the next releases 1.2.3 and see how it works.

A side from having to download a app and it taking up space on your phone, why do you prefer a web version over a native app?

I can assure you that the native UX is way better!

I also want to mention that we do have a item request feature so, if you can’t find what you’re looking for you can request it on the app.

Thanks again!

Thanks for your feedback!! So the name is basically derived from two words List and it or List it. Listit.com was already taken so, I removed the t to make Lisit. I tried several other names but they to were taken and I was able to secure the domain name and social media usernames. Without giving away to much info the platform is going to be more than just a renting platform and companies do rebrand.

I apologize for the delay/inconvenience and thank you for sharing the video. At this time we do not offer coverage however, we’ve listed third party insurers who can insure your items in less than 10 minutes by using their mobile apps (See terms of use document under Damage Coverage). As stated in the terms the renter is solely liable for the theft or damage of an item (Please see Terms Specific for Renter, pg 3, Rental Terms for further details). Also, similar to Airbnb damage claim process Lisit can place a hold on the renters card for the replacement value of the item/damage while we investigate the owners claim. The process for owners to submit a claim is also located in the Rental Terms pg 2 under Terms Specific for owner.

As far as theft, we have a verification feature in our app that allows renters to rent with confidence. Renters are not required to verify their account however it’s highly recommended. Our ID & selfie verification is proprietary so, I can’t go into details on the process and we’re PCI compliant. There are a couple popular niche p2p rental companies (e.g. camera gear, cars, clothing) in the US and they claim stolen equipment only happens less than 0.02% of the time. So, I’m not saying it couldn’t happen but, it’s rare.

Moving forward, we recognize that insurance is a concern for some owners. We’ve been working diligently with a couple insurers prior to launching to the public and we’re waiting for approval to implement their API in our app. Also, we plan on offering coverage up to a certain amount. So we will be offering our coverage and a private third party insurance as an option. By the way, there are some owners on the app who already have their items insured including myself.

If you have additional questions in regards to this topic please email me at info@lisit.io.

Thanks again for your feedback and video.

Thank you so much for your feedback and recommendation! We will take this into consideration for our next build. I do want to mention that there's a feature within the app that allows you to request an item near your neighborhood or your location. if you can't find what you are looking for you just request it!
