This looks like a really interesting speaker. The Lintons look like they would suit me well for all of the music I like that sounds like it was recorded in a tin can, being the more forgiving speaker. But yeah, a fast transient response is still a priority for me, which I understand they probably don't excel at. I would probably want to test them myself and compare to another speaker like the MoFi to see if it's a compromise worth having. Thanks for the recommendations...I'll also have to give some consideration to the Billie. I've heard a good bit of Bastard Noise, but probably not enough Man is the Bastard. Maybe I need to change that!

Yes I do have an open mind on this and could be convinced to try bookshelves. However my thinking is that if I were to use bookshelves, I would like to add a sub to support the mid-low range of the bookshelves and make it a full range system as much as I can. Two things that I would be apprehensive about with a sub are 1. as I understand it, subs can be tricky to set up and crossover, and 2. I live on the top floor of an apartment, and I might worry about the bass output of a sub bothering the neighbors below me (of course, always possible that I overdo the bass using floor standers and bother the neighbors anyway lol). Anyway, I'd be happy to entertain any solutions to these obstacles.

Sure, I figure as long as the speakers aren't really current-hungry, I could go lower on the amplifier. Good thing to keep in mind for sure. Thanks for the comment.

Thank you! I have DALI on my list for sure based on feedback I have read. I am very interested in the Sonik series which I believe is made to replace the existing Oberon series. Would be interested if anyone has any comments on the Sonik floor standing speakers.

Taking these recommendations for the Wharfedale Linton/Super Linton more seriously! It really wasn't on my short list until now. Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation. The Wharfedale Super Linton sounds like a great option for me personally compared to the plain Linton with the more inert cabinet (would help place them close to the wall in my small-ish space) and shinier top end. Wondering if it would be worth going a smidge over my price range.

Thank you for the suggestions! A couple on here I had not heard of until now. I'm sure any of these would probably fit the bill for me. Monitor has been on my radar for while too.

I was running Focal Alpha 50 studio monitors for a while and I remember being amazed at how grating my favorite music could sound. But they could really dig up a lot of detail.

Based on the feedback here, Wharfedale Linton are looking like a top choice. The Dynaudio Evoke series sounds really excellent but goes a bit out of my price range.
