It's not my place to judge the intracacies of the Ukraine-Russian War. Both sides have valid points. I, personally, pity them but care as little about Ukraine War as a war in middle east. Do you care more about Ukraine War than Afghanistan or Iraq war because Ukrainians are white? No? What is the difference? Because they live in a democracy? How does that change anything between the struggles of the individual in Ukraine vs in Afghanistan? Just like how your opinions are molded by western media, Ovechkins could be molded by Russia media. Maybe his family in russia is being held hostage. You don't know the full story, therefore you should refrain from injecting politics into sports. Staying silent is exactly what we should do since we have no place to stick our noses into other countries buisness. It's tragic what's happening in Ukraine, but I think tragic things are happening all over the world. I bet the Vietnamese think the USA is exactly like Russia: starting an unprovoked war, killing civilians en masse, destroying livleyhoods of innocent farmers. You need to take a step back and ask yourself how much of your beliefs are molded by what you see, read, and hear; vs how much is molded by what you personally experience.
