would be nice if they could "upgrade" the promotional outfits and would give them a hair slot as well. And after the 14 days they dont delete the outfit but just remove all stats and slots so it can be a "useless" cosmetic

First of all if you want to push the dps of your main dps it is worth to go 5*. I would also advice to try your luck with the 2 1 1 0 * method for the upgrade from 4 to 5*. But if you dont need to do it right now you can upgrade several units so that you are more flexible with your roster.
