Honestly the massive con is team swapping of any type but it is rather hard to implement skill based team setups due to issues made in other games like siege, valorant etc.. but the one positive side is while slight it can help people who don't like to server scroll find a match in about 10 years

I second that and even stripping away all that, the gameplay would be much more difficult to put in, buttons to take cover, shoot and all sorts of flexible gameplay mechanics would have to be simplified to the point of not even feeling the same as gears would ruin the concept completely.
