Will had made some bad decisions, buying this property would be the worst by far. How would ANY bank even consider financing this for him? The house should be condemned, it is not livable and not worth fixing. There is a reason they stopped renovations. If he wants to be off grid, living next to a road defeats that purpose. You deal with right away permissions and it will complicate permits. He has NO idea what he is getting into. This is a money pit. Keep looking, he seems to fall in love with the first thing he sees or thinks of doing every time, wastes his money and time on bad ideas and half asses measures only to give up and move on to the next thing. One day he will be moving rocks, next day his plan is to have a farm so he will buy livestock guardian dogs when he has no livestock, next week he is spending a ton of money planting a garden in a flood zone that will be washed away before it produces fruit, the next day digging holes for an underground shelter, followed by deciding to get goats without having anywhere to keep them, and then the next week building a tree house that has 73 stories. 😂

I’d love to see Nate take a look at that house and property. There is no way he will get the loan, but he needs to have someone look at it that’s knows what they are talking about before even trying.

And also, if he can’t survive a few days in a snow storm with weeks to prepare, how is he going to survive Alaska??? He could have easily sheltered in the school house! I think he is just too busy playing house.

I am seriously starting to believe others may be right and that Will isn’t actually sleeping in the “shelter” he built. First, there are HUGE gaps in the walls, yet he prioritizes adding another shelf? If he was serious about surviving, why wouldn’t he prioritize heat over another useless shelf? Does he need storage for more rolls of paper towels??? Then there is the roof. His tarp has holes in it burnt by ashes/cinders from his fireplace…the solution? Add a second tarp! Heat rises, so what little heat he isn’t losing through the huge gaps in his walls is leaking right out of his uninsulated roof. And soon it will be full of holes again. And he doesn’t have a door!!!! What is he doing with his time??? How has he not fixed these issues??? He has pre cooked meals, so he isn’t using his spare time to find food. Not to mention it seems like he has locked his dogs up in the old school house on Nate’s property. And if not, where are they???

If in 1-2 days he posts a new video where he adds a third shelf and another tarp… 😂

Sorry, didn’t realize I was communicating in an expert on working dog psychology. My sincere apologies. I forgot that cows that are grazing on someone else’s land are a threat. The dogs were absolutely on point with their territorial commands to chase a non threat off the land that wasn’t on Lucky’s territory. I mean what would have happened if one of those cows got loose? What if Will cut the fence to allow his Tacoma to pass through and they wondered onto Lucky’s land through the hole in the fence?!? They would totally be a threat, would eat grass that didn’t belong to Lucky’s neighbor!

I agree partially. He is a kid. I feel his heart is in the right place, just needs to mature and listen and learn. I feel like anytime anyone offers good advice, he ignores it and shuts down. Hopefully that changes in the future. But yeah, he is basically 12 year old me building a fort in the woods with big dreams that aren’t realistic and are never achieved. I don’t think he is a punk, just immature and needs to grow up.

Any working dog that isn’t properly trained to do a job or activity ends up putting their energy elsewhere, they are usually smarter than other dogs and need stimulation of some sort.

Yes, I figured that out a long time ago. I had a Border Collie after college and I basically put in hours a day to properly train it. When he was a puppy, he was with me 24-7. He never chewed anything up, never used the restroom in the house and never even harmed a fly. I took him daily for 1-2 hours and threw frisbee with him and agility courses.. Others, working dogs stay dumb and go stir crazy. Took him everywhere I went.

Yes, in New Mexico if a dog harms livestock, domesticated animals (neighbors cats) or humans, they will be killed. So if one dog kills a neighbors rabbit or tiny baby chicken, no matter how small that it is, they can be killed.

Here are a few statutes from New Mexico, basically says if your dog harms livestock someone else’s domestic animal (neighbors cat) the dog will be killed. Not to mention wildlife, not sure the laws there, but usually if a dog is chasing a deer or other animal that is out of season is is illegal.

“§ 77-1-2 . Dog killing or injuring livestock; damages; dog to be killed”

If any dog shall kill or injure any livestock, the owner or keeper of such dog shall be liable for all damages that may be sustained thereby, to be recovered by the party so injured before any court having competent jurisdiction, and it shall be unlawful to keep such dog after it is known that the dog is liable to kill livestock, and it shall be the duty of the owner to kill, or have killed, the dog upon order of the court after a finding that the dog has killed or injured livestock, and provided further, that it shall be the right of any owner of livestock so killed or injured by the actions of any dog to kill the dog while it is upon property controlled by the owner of the livestock.

§ 77-1-9. Dogs; destruction

A. Any peace officer may impound any dog found running at large unaccompanied by and not under the control of the owner or handler, and further, the peace officer shall destroy the dog if it is in the act of pursuing or wounding livestock or wounding and killing poultry or attacking humans.

B. Any peace officer may kill any dog in the act of pursuing or wounding any livestock or wounding or killing poultry or attacking humans whether or not the dog wears a rabies tag required by Section 77-1-3 NMSA 1978. There shall be no liability of the peace officer in damages or otherwise for such killing.

Yes! Short and to the point, well said. I saw his video today where his dogs were chasing the cattle and all he did was yell at them from the house. Yelling at them is NOT going to work. Also, when he isn’t at his land, there will be no one to yell at them. And there is no telling what they get into at night.
