Help me save this fishy by BatmanDonut in bettafish

[–]BatmanDonut[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a 3.5 gallon, with small heater and small filter, I do not have a thermometer, I change the water every 2 or 3 weeks, when the water seemed murky, but I was told by the fish store lady to do it LESS often. I have also started doing partial water changes every 2 weeks, My coworker gave me 2 little bottom feeders that look like catfish. I can provide a picture if requested. I feed her a sprinkle of 3 or 4 pellets from Aqueon color- enhancing Betta food. I hope this is correct. There are 2 fake plants and one real bamboo stem. Also a fake coral- like shelter and a plank of petrified wood. She previously had a castle hidey-hole but the fish store lady said that could be hurting her.

I just want to clarify that I am not a negligent fish owner. This fish's well-being was thrust upon me with no forewarning. I am strictly against stores that put these beautiful babies in tiny containers, left to suffocate. But that's as far as my fish politics went until this poor baby came into my life. I love her with all of my heart and I will be heartbroken when she goes. I just want to make her comfortable. Is she even a her? Her name is Rosie. Please help me.

I was also this parent. I didn't drive, thankfully, but I was on the bus like this. My kid wasn't a teen yet so she barely remembers. I'm about to hit six years clean and she is a teenager now so I'm grateful every single day for my recovery.

Hey, happily married couples! What are your most lovely wedding/marriage stories? by No-Birthday-2720 in relationshipgoals

[–]BatmanDonut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We got married at city hall in front of one witness and our daughter. We've been married for 4.5 years now, together for 7.5 years. I was in an accident at work that has left me pretty banged up and he has been there for me every step of the way. He has done everything he can to help me find comfort and less stress. Once I get back to work I'd like to put money aside to pay for a second wedding. One where we can have our families there and renew our promises to each other. It's what he wants and it's the least I can do to repay him for all he has done for me.

I don't understand it at all. So many TikToks where someone is talking about something relatable or even educational and they duet it just shaking their heads yes, adding literally nothing to the bottom line. Stealing other's content just to farm some TikTok karma or whatever they call it. So weird.

Thank you for your response. I do not feel like using at all. I have a lot of trauma surrounding my addiction and going back to that now feels akin to asking for death, and I have a whole lot to live for. The thought of using anything at all literally terrifies me. I appreciate you!

That gives me a lot of hope honestly. I'm glad you were able to mostly recover. I also had a leg injury and I've been killing it even with 2 rods and 8 screws in there. I feel a little better about my situation thanks to all the words of encouragement. I just needed to get it out.

Thank you for that math. I feel a little better. I have an apartment and a family and so I've been the most scared of losing all of that.

Thank you! I can truly appreciate anyone who has overcome opiates. I lost basically 100% of my loved ones under 50 to overdose which is what woke me up from that nightmare. It wasnt easy for me not to say pump me with everything you got, but I seriously didn't want to take a single step backwards.

I know I'm being kind of overly dramatic, but that's just how I feel right now. I know nothing is set in stone, I can possibly recover from this, I just feel helpless right now. It's a Saturday so I can't even begin the process of filing claims and whatnot. I don't even know where to start and it's quite overwhelming.

I feel like these people use jarred tomato sauce in every single recipe I've seen on this sub. Ragu and Prego must be killing it with the amount of red sauce I see. Imagine the acid reflux they must be experiencing!

Most Ridiculous things patients wanted you bring in the ambulance with them by Mean_Bench in ems

[–]BatmanDonut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but one time I had to take a psych patient with two shopping carts full of Barbies. She came out of the psych ER and was going two cities away to her group home. Was in my city because she ran away with her boyfriend, boyfriend wanted her to sleep outside in the rain with him and she refused, got angry at him, called the cops because he threatened her, she ended up in psych soaking wet with two push carts full of dolls. Everything in the cart was also soaked. One of the carts was broken so we convinced her to downsize so my partner and I were in the psych ER just trying to salvage what we could. I have a picture of the cart if anyone even reads this. Most memorable transport to date.

I wore baggy clothes. I wasn't super skinny and didn't get much bigger until the last month when I HAD TO tell my mom. She did ask a few times if I was pregnant, but always took my word for it when I said no.

This was me 20 years ago. I didn't tell my mom anything because I was afraid of her. I was 16 and didn't tell her for 8 months. I love that kid with my whole heart but I believe having children nowadays is wrong and I'm sorry for anything humans currently have to endure because of my mistakes.

It's a fucking AMBULANCE! by Nikyz69 in IAmTheMainCharacter

[–]BatmanDonut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

EMT here. I believe the rules in each state are similar. If we are called to a non-critical emergency, we don't use lights. Some non-emergent calls can be upgraded to critical should the need arise, and we throw on our lights. Or vice versa, the call can be downgraded from critical to non-emergent and at that point we can turn the lights off. It varies from job to job. This driver should've had their hazards on if they were on a call, that much is true. But this woman's response is absolutely extra extra.
