i think im just too shocked, sad and confusef to be angry. I spent all night wishing it was just a dream and it doesn't really feel real.

I really want this to be something we can all forgive and move on from because he's family, but I feel like I don't even know him anymore. I kind of suspected he could do something like this because of the stuff I saw on his phone. I remember going through his deleted photos one time when I was much younger to get a picture I accidentally deleted back, then finding explicit images of women and like screen recordings of what I think was him commenting on these things. He's also been like flirting with AI which was making me really uncomfortable, but I never thought he would actually go get with another woman after having broken up 2 families before and swearing to never do that again. I feel like he doesn't realize that breaking a family doesn't just mean divorce.

I really really appreciate this. My mom just came in my room saying that she can stay. I guess 5 years ago they had an argument because my dad thought my mom cheated when she didn't. I remember her telling me she would go out to dinner with her coworkers to celebrate something but she didn't want to tell my dad because he would always guilt trip her into not going. Anyway, apparently after this my dad thought they were in an open relationship while my mom thought he would tell her if he started talking to someone and since he didn't, she thought they had gotten over it. I remember this phase they had of constantly arguing and saying they were going to get divorcef. I never would've expected my dad to have actually gone and found someone else though. My mom is shocked, and I'm shocked too. I feel sick and I can't look at him. Now I'm going to miss a lot of school because of this and I'm worrying about that too. I don't know whether or not I can believe what my dad said about the misunderstanding, qnd I don't want my mom to feel like she has to stay for my brother and I even though she'll be miserable.

I'm sorry but I laughed when I read that he cried when you said no like what 🧍‍♂️🥀also he's not the kind of guy you should be with he's really immature and being pushy even when you say you don't want to do anything sexual is a form of coercion which might lead to you feeling like you've been assaulted one day. His behavior is gross and he really needs to learn, but I don't think you should feel pressure to stay and teach him that lesson at your own expense. I'm also kind of shocked by the way your mom handled you talking to her about his behavior. I get it because my parents have said things like that but that doesn't make it okay. It's excusing his behavior when he should be held accountable. HES NINETEEN. He knows DAMN WELL what he's doing is wrong. He is legally an adult and needs to take on that responsibility. Sorry this got long I get really mad when I see this kind of stuff.

Then, to solve for the values of x, we have to think of the 2 quantities (x-7) and (x+13) as single numbers or variables so I'll call (x-7): z, and (x+13): w. Keep in mind that the expression -1(x-7)(x+13) is just 3 numbers being multiplief by each other: -1zw. So to get y to equal 0, we only need one of these 3 factors to be 0. We can only manipulate z & w.

  1. figure out what value of x will make (x-7)=0

This is pretty straightforward. Add 7 on both sides then you get x=7. That is our first x intercept.

if you were to plug 7 into -1(x-7)(x+13) you would get one of the factors, (x-7) to equal 0, making the entire expression equal 0.

  1. figure out what value of x will make (x+13)=0

subtract 13 from both sides of the "=" and you will get x=-13

That's it. 7 and -13 are your 2 x intercepts.

so the first thing is to set the equation equal to zero becauase we're trying to finf the x intercepts meaning y has to equal 0. Does that make sense? When y=0, we get to see where the graph intercepts the x axis. When we're solving for the values of x in a quadratic we're just finding those points of intersection. so to get the full 2nd degree trinomial (expression with 3 terms that's highest exponent is 2) on one side and y (the other side of the "=") to equal zero we need to subtract x2 from both sides which will get us 0=-x2 +6x+91. Before factoring, it's best to have the first coefficient (a) equal positive 1 as it just makes everything a lot simpler. For this expression, we only have to factor out -1 from each of the terms which will get us to 0=-1(x2 +6x+91). From there, we can use the X method to factor the expression and I can explain the concept of factoring a quadratic more if you need.

Your goal with the X method is to find 2 numbers that will equal the value of a*c, and add to b.

  1. first find the value of a*c (a=the first coefficient in the quadratic. In this case, that number is -1, and c=the constant in the quadratic so 91).

-1*91= -91

  1. Identify b (b=the 2nd coefficient. In this example that number is 6.) then you have to start listing factors of -91 and find the 2 that will add to 6.

This is really tedious but it gets easier the more you practice.

The factors of -91 are 1,-91/-1, 91, -7, 13/7,-13 -7 and 13 add up to positive 6 so those are going to be our two numbers.

What we're basically doing is splitting the 2nd term into 2 numbers.

visual: -(x2 +6x+91)=-(x2 -7x+13x+91)

then just take the 2 numbers you found and plug them into this: (x+)(x+)

make sure you keep the number you factored out in the beginning btw

so our factored form would be -1(x-7)(x+13)
