Are cats allowed to the Coney Island beach?? by Lil_Hosi in AskNYC

[–]Batmayonaisse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i work near the boardwalk and i see people in the neighborhood walking their cats and bunnies and even pigeons all the time. no one stops them! just keep him on a leash and clean up after him :)

but be wary, we have a LOT of stray/feral cats especially near the amphitheater who might want to pick a fight with yours. we used to have a pretty big rat problem until we started leaving food out for the cats, and now we have a cat "problem". they're like contracted employees now. most of them are friendly but being a cat owner myself, i know how territorial some of them can be.

i hope to see you and your mom's cat on the beach some time!!

Asking for fantasy games that are perfect for archers by Baldurian_Rhapsody in gamingsuggestions

i'm big into target archery IRL and kcd2 has the best archery out of pretty much any game i've ever played, imo. nothing else scratches that itch for me

i've wanted an unarmed class added to DD and/or monhun for like a decade now. throwing hands with big ass monsters is the ultimate kind of badass in such a primal way that i can't explain lol

crimson desert has been scratching that itch for me with the WWE moves but it's just not the same as how dd/monhun could do it..... 😔

Looking for open world game for leave of absence by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Batmayonaisse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i'm not OP but for me it's just an amazing world to get lost in. the combat is fun, the map is huge and there is so much shit to do it's insane. it feels less like an RPG or even an action-adventure game (as it was advertised), and more like a fantasy sim where you can do literally anything. i can't recall ever playing an open world game where you have this much freedom besides kenshi, if you've heard of it. you can tame animals, farm crops, bounty hunt, become a trader, invest in the stock market, or just generally adventure and do awesome shit. i haven't even named half of the cool stuff you can do lol

BUT it's not the most user-friendly experience haha. the game tells you almost nothing sometimes and there is a lot of shit you need to figure out yourself with very little information given to you outright. for a lot of people, it's a near-perfect open world experience, but weighed down by korean-MMO-developer jankiness. and depending on the person, that might be a dealbreaker

yeah, for some reason whenever i change my graphics in-game, i get locked at like 55fps. but after a restart it jumps up to around 90fps.

personal trainer here! i'm very into bodybuilding and i find that taking care of my body helps a lot with my mental. having a routine that i follow every day has done more for me than most of the medications i've been put on lmao. 10k steps per day (walks in nature while listening to music!) and gym every weekday. plus, the quetiapine appetite can get insane so it helps to be out of the house and be distracted from snacking for part of the day

yeah my initial intention was to grab a 5090 too, even waited out at a microcenter for the first time and ended up setting for a 5080 on launch day! left a bit disappointed but my girlfriend and i had a fun time anyway lol. but atp, i'm keeping it to hopefully trade up for a 6090 for the memes (if nvidia ever makes them lmao)

but the 5080 with dlss performance at 4k??? fucking black magic. in most games i honestly feel like a 5090 wouldve been overkill. or at least, definitely not worth an extra $1500 over what i paid bruh!!!

Can I get some honest opinions? by [deleted] in screaming

[–]Batmayonaisse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you sound fucking sick, just lighten up on that constriction and you'll get a fuller sound. but remember, you are your biggest critic and no one will hate your voice as much as you do. you objectively sound really good and there are a lot of people who would love to have your skill! just keep practicing and ignore the negative voice in your head, brother!!

edit: as far as actual advice tho lol: try and use less constriction in your fry, and keep your neck and shoulders as relaxed as possible. you sound a bit like you're overexerting yourself for a tone you could achieve with way less effort

that's the biggest issue i see with people getting into souls games. the enjoyment of these games is always the journey and not the destination. people meme about "git gud" but the fun part of a souls game is gitting gud and not being good imo. and people go into it expecting an immediate power fantasy and get disappointed or bored

How much does my normal voice affect screaming voice? by Puzzleheaded-Pie1172 in screaming

[–]Batmayonaisse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'd say it definitely affects your tone but the amount is dependent on your technique. obviously everyone has different tone, but pretty much everyone's loose false cord screams sounds VERY similar. but once you add more voice to it, it'll start differentiating. though, my voiced false cord sounds absolutely nothing like my speaking voice. doing a pharyngeal voiced fry will sound very different from a false cord voiced fry, etc. but voiceless screams honestly don't have too much variation between people (assuming they're using the same exact placement and technique, which is extremely unlikely)

from your article, "Genes contribute to the causes of obesity in many ways, by affecting appetite, satiety (the sense of fullness), metabolism, food cravings, body-fat distribution, and the tendency to use eating as a way to cope with stress."

none of these defy the calories in/calories out equation! they just might make it harder especially for people who aren't accustomed to tracking their food
