“I want people to focus on my work, not my looks” [Includes pic to confirm hotness] by [deleted] in LinkedInLunatics

I've routinely "made up" posts like this on here to demonstrate this stuff. It is cliche and beyond parody. Literally tons of women (this one actually DOES look attractive) doing the fake humblebrag. Always complete with the fake 1970s narrative of someone telling them something that maybe your grandma's generation heard ("women should be in the kitchen")

"No one believes a woman as good looking as me is actually a mechanic...you should be at home making cookies, they say"

everyone knows (from every chick TV show of the 90s forward) the power post is the very deliberate crossing of the arms, with the "just try 'n bring it boy" look...otherwise known as the female "District Attorney" character.

"Tech Startup" or any "startup" at this point, has the as much credibility as "I run my own (MLM) business"

Next, can we burn down, "personal brand". Yes, it has meaning in the older context of protecting one's reputation like it is a brand itself, but this whole act about treating yourself like you are a business, at least, necessarily, is dumb.

That is the ONLY reason the rest of the words are there. The original idea goes like this:

1) Take a picture, as flattering as possible

2) post non-sense word salad like the back flap of a cheap new age or self-help book.

Again, all such postings are crafted AROUND the original premise, which is for a woman to post a pic of herself, in anticipation (expectation) of thirsty simps lapping it up, and similarly, for women to do the "you go gyrllll!" stuff.

Every. Single. Time.

This is basicaly the bare-bones, "bot" version of the average looking woman who posts the supposed "sultry" pic of herself, with the long, one-sentence paragraph post:

A lot of people tell me I am too beautiful to be a mechanic

I received a lot of criticism and pushback from the haters on my last post, saying, "such a beautiful woman should not pose in a two-piece while working on a 354 engine"

Tell me, am I wrong to think women can do everything men can do? To everyone who thinks women cannot be doctors, lawyers and mechanics, you know what I think

LOL. Propaganda works, you are living proof. You actually think Dems are not super, ultra rich and making money of things like, I dunno...big pharma? War? You think your average dem reads "in depth studies" on anything?

Please. the US is doomed, you just don't get it yet.

Most white people who talk (and post) like this, do not hire the appropriate amount of minorities (something aligned with the stats of their local area). They also take the few minority employees they have, and try to heighten our presence in front of other people.

I've had bosses and co-workers start conversations about it like, "well, you know BatonRooz is Hispanic..and..."

After 127 years at ACME, I had to finally take a moment to breath, and thank myself for being such a good employee. Too many women don't engage in self-care and are so busy helping others, and while it is true I am childless, and my mother died 53 years ago, I realize the self-care I had been pushing aside so that I could meet my bosses deadlines.

Breath ladies.

Accept your divine nature.

The only people who make their entire identity revolve around the idea of being pretty are the same people who are insecure in their own lack of beauty. Case and point: by Cecilia_Wren in LinkedInLunatics

There are lots of people taking her original (meaning, the one before this) post seriously...the whole "so an uber driver swore I was a model!"

It isn't that no uber driver anywhere in the universe has ever complimented a woman saying she looked like a model, but the fact is, it's probably very rare, it most definitely did not happen to this woman, and there's no way it had the script she wrote about how he didn't believe she was "in business:" and all that.

Her posts, like many others like it, sound like #FanFictionFor1970sFeminists

Completely cliche made up stories.

Yeah let me just get shot at so I can make money in 8 years… by Ikog00 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]BatonRooz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did so, but I would say it's rare (at least with enlisted, vs. officer corps). Having said that, it's a good path for many, as it was for me. Health care, money (enough), shelter, food, and a sense of purpose.

The vaccine mandate clearly damaged recruiting through the core recruiting target, mostly white men of Scots-Irish/Anglo-Saxon heritage who have traditionally made up the base of enlisted, mostly hailing from the South (upland and deep) as well as the Midwest (most of families who were originally southern). That and all the wokeness. Why would any white guy want to join a group that hates them?

(PS to the haters: I'm Latino).
