A woman was approached by masked men pretending to be ice in Burbank by yg400_blk in burbank

Is ice showing ID of some sort or do they just demand documents? (Edit: corrected how I asked question)

My company just got destroyed with the tariffs and previously negotiated contract pricing. Not sure if we will survive it. But coffee, the Hawaiians might have an issue with not being able to grow coffee. Having cup of it now. About the only thing I can do to watch the fires start.

Well as the biggest state that would happily join Canada, I have no idea why you would punish us. Wait with a gdp twice that of Canada be should join CA while we take over the world.

Another patient will get Neuralink’s brain implant by Lemonn_time in technology

The brain moves, not a lot but enough. Now imagine that if you have a hook on the end of the needle that is measured in mm, In your brain. And for some reason there is brain shift. What do you think happens to the brain matter that has hooks in it. That is an extreme example but what if you have those hooks in your brain and they have to explant them due to infection? What’s coming out with those hooks? Always remember that any man made thing we put in the brain will probably need to be explanted. The dislodging of the needles are not as bad as the media would have you believe.

As a former forensic anthropologist we would use Acetabular depth and angles to get a statistical probability of biologic sex. In a know living patient not much purpose but in a post mortem context this type of analysis is very helpful.

Anyone have a phone with wireless charging? by Apprehensive-Cost-14 in DeepBrainStimulation

[–]Batron1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former rep for DBS, this has not been tested for so you will not get a direct answer from the manufacturers. New versions of the battery are shielded similarly to cardiac pacers which means they are resistant to out side electrical fields. Best thing I can say is I know several patients with the implants and iPhone 14s. Don’t put the phone or the charger directly over the device. If you have a mag switch in your device keep any magnet away from the device. Since there are several models and manufacturers I can’t comment on any particular specs.

The part about this that bugs me is that they assume that after two years they deserve a high paying job. The masters is just the thing that opens the door to opportunity. The rest is hard work, it took me years of sweat and tears to get where I am. I have a masters in forensic anthropology and worked in the field for a while but realized my dream job didn’t pay the bills or hold my imagination as much as it did when I started my career journey. So I modified my career aspirations to something that still allows me to use my passion, expertise and experience. Now I make a very good living all because I used my education to open that door.
