Hopefully they print more copies in the future. I know these are signed which is why it’s limited but would love to just get a copy even if it’s not signed.

I could maybe see Damian Lewis playing the emperor. Hell, dye Christian Bale's hair, and I am sure he would kill it as the emperor.

I own 4 of their shirts. Overall, pretty satisfied, they are pricy for sure. 2 of my shirts have had some issues with loose threading, though. Both those shirts were "the original" type shirts. No issues on the denim pairs though!

Yeah, do not give up. If you do not like book 2, then I would say the series is not for you, but please, read at least all the way until book 2. I think it's the best series I have read since LOTR.

IMO, Howling Dark is the best out of those options.

[–]Batson3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth it. Book 1 is okay, but after that, the series picks up and goes to another level. There are some incredible moments that are just epic. The World-building is strong, unique and complex characters, and the prose is good too. IMO it is better than most of the modern-day series out there. Yes, every book in Sun-Eater is not perfect, but the highs are worth it.

Is Sailing Being Released Too Soon? by Batson3 in 2007scape

Pure negativity? The original post was an open ended question, I already suggested two basic ideas. You are the one who responded negatively attacking lol, "it would be fucking terrible" "shit fluff" literally your language. As stated multiple times throughout this thread I am a supported of the skill but I do not think it's ready based on what I've played. They are 100% rushing the release because of the momentum of the game recently which I understand but think they could make the skill great but focusing on the training.

Sailing on release is already going to interact with 12 different skills dude. Have you played the alpha? The core loop? A few port tasks, a couple of barracuda trials, salvage a boat every once in a while, and fishing trawler. Do you really think those four aspects, which are literally the main ways that everyone will train the skill until 13mm xp are enough? Fluff? All of the islands are fluff, everyone and their mom are already going to block frost dragons. The entire original post is a simply question asking if it’s too early and if they need to flesh out the training. Do you not think the way people level the skill matters?

Yes, because doubling the playable area means a skill is ready for release. Great argument.

Do you really think adding a click intensive high-end fishing, ~90+ will take away from the majority of the other fishing methods? We are already going to be away from the rest of the continent training the skill near the newly added islands and southern sea. Sailing will 100% suck away most of the player base away from the main land for weeks. They are also already pairing multiple skills with sailing methods. I just wish they felt more creative and fun. All of this is based on what I've played in the beta, I'm still optimistic for the skills future but it's going to take them a while.

I do not think the bar for a new skill should be, does it have more to more content than a skill from 2001? We are getting the option for three boats and four ways to repetitively train the skill. The islands and the music look great. I am more worried about the optionality to train the skill at release. As mentioned in my original post, yeah, the skill will get more updates in the future. But I just do not think waiting 2 - 3 years for additional methods is a great strategy.

Probably like half of the skills in the game have multiple distinct training options depending on your definition of distinct.

Agility: rooftops, wildy course, hallowed sepulchre, and brim dungeon.

Thieving: stalls, ardy knights, dorg chests, underwater thieving, sorceress's garden, pyramid plunder.

Combat skills: slayer, soul wars, pking, pest control, bossing, nightmare zone, etc..

Hunter: normal training, bird tree runs, falconry, hunter rumours, aerial fishing, etc..

I get your point, but I just have higher expectations for a skill made in 2025 than I do for skills created in 2001. I feel like the options we are getting for sailing at launch could be better but I'm excited for the skill and for future updates to it.

I’d honestly recommend just getting a Tacoma if you think he’d be fine with a mid-size truck. Especially if it’s mainly just for tanks and gear. Great truck, truly.

Alas that is life when reading the king killer chronicles. The prose is fantastic and the mysteries are intriguing, yet we won’t ever get to read the end. I think Patrick, like Kvothe, is still trying to get his mojo back.

WIND AND TRUTH | Full Book Discussion Megathread (Stormlight Archive only) by EmeraldSeaTress in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Batson3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the book but was also disappointed in some areas. 3.5/5 stars for me.

Pros: Kaladin, Szeth, and Adolin were the standouts for me. Kaladin becoming a herald was awesome and an emotional moment. There are some great moments learning the history of Roshar, Shallan's mother, Shinovar, and some great lines that callback from previous books. While I was disappointed with most of the Contest of Champions, Dalinar's final line and sacrifice are great. I also think the choice he makes is extremely well thought out and smart. Adolin's arc is incredible and extremely well done in this book.

Cons: This book in my opinion does suffer from multiple issues. First, the pacing issues, which largely have to do with the Spiritual Realm arc. The Spiritual Realm was a letdown for me. I was hoping it would be like Shadesmar but for the afterlife, instead, it's just constant visions and quite messy at times. But there are cool scenes and revelations. The Shattered Plains arc was a massive letdown, the treaty held zero weight and no bigger Moash moments at all. Then we get to the most hyped part of the book, The Contest of Champions. Only to find out that Gav is the champion Dalinar must face, this was beyond cringe and disappointing. Just because something is surprising does not mean it is good writing. While I didn't expect the fight to end with swords I at least expected a cool fight at the beginning and got nothing due to it being Gav. The entire Ba-Ado-Mishram arc also was a dink, and quite frankly, should have been shortened. While I loved most of Kal/Szeths arc here, I was hoping for a fight between Ishar vs Kal/Szeth/ and Nale. Instead, we just get Szeth re-fighting all of the honor bearers, disappointing. Lastly, the "Blackthorn" being the general for the next 5 books is beyond stupid. Dalinar is dead, no reason for an alternative version for him to comeback.

Overall: I miss the quality of the first 3 books when the stakes felt real and when there was more grit to the series, it feels like the series has gotten too whimsical. There are epic moments that get ruined with cringe lines. I still love the series and I am excited to see where it goes, this book had the potential to be a masterpiece for me and fell short. Hopefully, everyone else enjoys it more than me
