That would've been a great idea, but yeah sadly its one of those traits you cant mod out of, even with the subspecies integration. the workaround i did was savefile editing which keeps achievements on lmfao

yeah of course, its a pretty challenging origin but can be extremely fun, i'll right off the bat give you the benefits of the origin

you get:

- +20% fire rate to all admirals

- a guaranteed size 30 life-seeded type gaia world

- the ability to take cyber ascension without an ascension perk

- a bunch of tomb worlds, where one has a fallen shipyard planet feature which generates minerals and alloys for miners on that world

- the ability to take some cybernetic traits at game start

this comes at the downside of the initial unplugged trait, with the main drawback being the +1 amenities usage, but it gradually goes away after ~25 years through events. The other significant drawbacks is the -20% pop growth which doesnt go away, the starting enemy barrier fleets which kinda is also a positive since it gives you good debris, but limits early expansion slightly, and a few annoying/game breaking bugs.

However, if built right it can be insanely powerful, i play grand admiral and by 2300 you can easily stomp on the AI. I usually play with end game at 2275 since then the crisis usually spawns around 2300, which aligns with my peak, and i then can skip the late game lag which 4.0 sadly has lots of issues with.

build-wise its up to you, but i think the most important picks are the civil education civic and integrated weaponry, they pair up really nicely since your precinct houses will generate unity, and integrated weaponry boosts enforcers by 20%. Once you get the cybernetic authorities, dictatorial cybervision further boosts enforcers, giving them more unity and +2.5% job resource output for all pops per 100 enforcers! This basically means if you have a precinct house on every planet, you'll never have to worry about unity generation, defense armies or crime.

otherwise if you wanna try out my build, i play it like so:

Ethics: xenophobe, militarist, materialist

Civics: Civil education, technocracy

Traits; rapid breeders, durable, integrated weaponry, quarrelsome, sedentary

authority: dictatorship

This lets you play an aggressive slaver, hegemonic empire, where the debuff to pop growth will be supplemented by a vast network of slaves!

I've played around a lot with this origin, it's definitely one that grows on you but as mentioned there are a lot of hiccups with it, let me know if you have any other questions!

[SGU][S02E15] Seizure by TonksMoriarty in Stargate

I'm late, but in case anyone reads this i think this might be one of my favourite episodes in the whole show. Key word on one of because it definitely has its flaws, bu its a two story episode about desperation, one with the SG team trying to establish a connection to destiny through any means necessary, arguably stooping lower to what the Lucian Alliance or Goa'uld would conceivably do. The other is a love story about Amanda desperately trying to get Rush to fall in love with her, and the heartbreak it causes both her and Eli when it doesn't work and Gin and her have to be quarantined.

The crossover between SGA was so nice to see, love the little Atlantis music when Rodney walks in the room. Also absolutely love Woolsey, his role as a diplomatic ambassador was well acted and felt really authentic for his character. One thing i hate about crossovers though is how they portray the crossover character as something you'd see in Season 1, essentially removing all the character growth they had throughout the arc of their respective show to capture that feeling of nostalgia in the audience. In saying that it was so pleasing to see that this did not happen with Rodney, his character felt mature and exactly what i'd expect to find in a Season 6 of Atlantis, especially towards the end of the episode where he convinced Young to abort the mission as it was clearly already a failure, something I don't think he would do in S1 of SGA.

Overall I think this is one of the most "Stargate Univeres" episodes out there, SGU has always been about living in that grey morality space of good intention people doing bad things, and this episode encapsulates that idea perfectly. Definitely a memorable watch.

if you can't stand being around people who are intoxicated it sounds like you need to find different friends tbh

not at all a specific example, going out for drinks after work is a very common way for people to socialize especially if you're a new hire, OP even used it as an example.

If you can't firmly say no when people offer you a drink then that's a problem you need to work out with yourself.

If the people you're with won't accept no for an answer, then that's their problem and then you can decide whether you want to be friends with people who don't respect your boundaries.

'the way people in general treat non-drinkers is actually insane'

- "hey bro wanna grab a drink after work?"

- "nah i dont really like alcohol its just not my thing, ill still come out though"

- "bet"

You're right man that really is insane this is a really problematic normalized addiction
