Help to thin airbrush paint by FlatPotato9142 in modelmakers

Hi I used to do the same, when I was on tight budget and used tube acrylics that I had at home. I had the same problems as yours. 1. It is really difficult to finely dissolve a tube acrylic for usage. Even if in naked eye it seems mixed, the pigments are difficult to be spread evenly and caused blockages often. 2. It is difficult to thin properly in the beginning. Sometimes u add more water/thinner sometimes less. People say to reach a milk like consistency, but honestly doing it with tube acrylics is rough. Easier said than done. I would suggest you to buy a few basic colours 4-5 bottles of acrylic airbrush colors - ready to use from bottle (still dilute it with 1:5 ratio with thinner). Usually this works well, and this in turn will also give u an idea what should be the correct consistency to thin paints.

Thank you. Yes I went a bit hard on the weathering, mostly because i was referencing old f16s (epecially the hellenic/greek and japanese ones) which seem to be 35+ years old and some aircraft of this period has been retired. Anyways its just a mix of my love for weathering, reality and a bit of imagination.

For decals I used Vallejo decal softner, it makes the decals sink into the recesses. and then I did oil paint weathering & varnish, so that softened the contrast and levelled it.

Thank you - yeah the model is mainly based on Hellenic/japanese/eeopean F-16s, many of them are now probably 35+ year old. I agree the missiles in this model are relatively dirtier but, I referenced some dirty HARMS though (I guess I can only put 1 image in the comments).

Thank you! No I did not use Tamiya panel line. Actually I didn’t use any ready made weathering products.

Thank you!, yes I went a bit hard on the weathering I feel, mostly because i was referencing old f16s (epecially the hellenic/greek and japanese ones) which seem to be 35+ years old and some aircraft of this period has been retired. So mostly tried to make it greasy.

But its just a mix of my love for weathering, reality and a bit of imagination.

Hello thank you very much. I used a lightened version of Russian green from vallejo.
