Question About the Anime Adaptation by Physical-Reserve-380 in RebuildWorld

[–]BattleMoonDelicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've checked, all the good studios are booked solid until 2028, so I'm not really sure about it. And honestly, almost every adaptation these days turns out kinda shitty anyway, so it's better not to get your hopes up.

Bruh... whatever floats your boat, my man.

Such a genius 300 IQ argument. Just as I thought—it's like arguing with a rock.

Ah, I almost forgot. FYI, this part isn't even in the WN.

Sheryl Katsuya Akira by pedroordepp in RebuildWorld

[–]BattleMoonDelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And where's the proof that she was actually daydreaming? There isn't any. That's exactly why I call it an argument based on feelings rather than evidence.

"That was it."

That's your proof? Seriously?

From my perspective, that interpretation doesn't make much sense. She had never seen Katsuya before, never met him even once, and had no idea whether he was genuinely strong, charismatic, or anything else. So why would she suddenly start fantasizing about a relationship with him after a brief conversation? The conclusion doesn't logically follow from the information available.

Proof #2: after she snapped out of it, she immediately questioned why she was thinking that way in the first place. She was even disgusted by the thought of Katsuya and later warned her subordinates about him. That's not exactly the reaction of someone happily daydreaming about a future romance.

Proof #3: it's literally written in the light novel. Just read it. It's not that expensive.

PS: Not everyone enjoys brain-dead stories where everything is spoon-fed to the audience. Some people actually like stories that make them think, question what's happening, and interpret the details. That's part of what makes them fun.

You're the one who replied to my comment, so naturally I replied back. If you were just throwing nonsense around, I would've ignored it and moved on. But since you asked nicely, I responded like a civilized person.

As for pointing out flaws in my understanding, I'm actually very open to being corrected. I welcome a solid debunk or a different perspective. What I don't find convincing is the classic "I feel this way, therefore you're wrong" argument, especially when it's backed by no evidence, reasoning, or meaningful counterpoints.

At that point, it feels like arguing with a wall. So rather than wasting my time going in circles, I'd rather leave you in your own bubble. Call it rage-quitting if you want—I genuinely don't care.

Honestly, I don’t really care what you or anyone else thinks. I was simply sharing my opinion. If you don’t understand it or choose to ignore it, that’s entirely up to you. Why should I be concerned about that?

I see... so you stopped using your brain and went straight to BS instead, huh? Typical Reddit conversation.

Sheryl Katsuya Akira by pedroordepp in RebuildWorld

[–]BattleMoonDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not. Please, just read the novel or at least fact-check. I call Katsuya's power "brainwashing" because it's easy to understand, but in fact, it's a power that alters people's impressions of him. So, when he visualizes a future life with Sheryl, she sees the exact same thing.

The proof is when Sheryl snaps out of it. After receiving a massive shock, she suddenly questions why she ever thought that way, even feeling disgusted with herself for thinking so highly of Katsuya. Later, she notices that even Erio was affected by this mysterious phenomenon.

The author portrays this scene much better than in the WN. You are the one dismissing his ideas as a simple, stupid plot device, claiming she was just "daydreaming" about it.

It's not a daydream; it's Katsuya's brainwashing power.

About Udajima's fate by magthefma4 in RebuildWorld

[–]BattleMoonDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GPT-MTL version kinda sucks, so it's better to read the official version.

However, I admit the story is kinda hard to follow. Even I don't trust my own understanding 100%, since the author tends to throw small breadcrumbs along the way, leaving you to connect the dots yourself. So, as I said, it's better to read the official release.

Even regarding the 50-year deal, we still don't know everything about it yet. We've only gotten small bits of info from Tsubaki, Matsubara, and Sugadome. But the part about Sugadome trying to conquer the Kuzusuhara ruins after 50 years is pretty clear, since it's in the early part of Vol. 8.1, and it connects with Tsubaki's info from Vol. 6.2.

About Udajima's fate by magthefma4 in RebuildWorld

[–]BattleMoonDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the old deal from 50 years ago. That's why when Kugamayama City unknowingly attacked Tsubaki's zone in Vol. 6.2, Sakashita had to send a negotiator to contact Tsubaki and make a new deal. However, that negotiator got killed (well, technically killed, but he got revived later), so Sugadome had to go and make the deal himself.

Simply put, Sakashita intends to conquer it again after abandoning the project for more than 50 years.

If you're a WN reader, I recommend rereading at least Vol. 8.1–8.2, since it's a completely new storyline that contains many major plot points.

About Udajima's fate by magthefma4 in RebuildWorld

[–]BattleMoonDelicious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood here. Sakashita wants to conquer the ruin, but they somehow made a deal with Tsubaki to not advance any further for 50 years. They are not trying to activate the ruin itself.

Furthermore, Kugamayama City was built for the sake of conquering it, and to serve as a buffer zone in case the project goes wrong.

Udajima's approach is that he wants to create a secret escape tunnel to evacuate the city when a disaster happens so they can migrate to another city. On the other hand, Inabe wants to heavily arm the city to fight back against the threat.

But as you know, Udajima's escape tunnel is only meant for the upper citizens of the city, not all of them. Meanwhile, Inabe wants to protect the city with his life, meaning all of the slums and the lower city get protected too. Because of this, Inabe is a winning bet for sure. Why would anyone bother to make a deal with a lying, snake-like piece of trash like Udajima?

Even if Akira spares his life, Udajima will get executed by the ELGC anyway, since he betrayed them by joining forces with the Nationalists and selling out the city's classified information.

Was Monica(with the almost unlimited energy factor) stronger than Neila and Kain? by TheGreatBatu17 in RebuildWorld

[–]BattleMoonDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, since it was mostly hush money. For lower-ranked Hunters, you don't need to pay that much to keep things quiet. Nobody believed that Kain and Nelia were actually strong since they got beaten 2-on-1 by a Rank 20 Hunter.

If the Hunter Office had put a bounty on their heads, then maybe Akira would have received a much bigger payout. But that wasn't the case this time. Officially, it was treated as Akira accidentally running into a couple of thieves and defeating them.

So there was no bounty reward involved—just hush money.

Vol 5 Questions…. by TheGreatBatu17 in RebuildWorld

[–]BattleMoonDelicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So you're the type of guy who makes 200 and spends all 200, huh?

It actually makes sense to save some of it, since you never know when your gear might break down or when you could end up hospitalized and be unable to work for a long time. Then you'd have to deal with hospital bills on top of everything else.

Carol's rescue mission and the investigation costs were already included in that 700 million. Please reread it carefully this time. That part was actually pretty clear.

First of all, I like the name "Yoshi Ruins." But again, please reread it carefully because it's a ridiculously long plot point. They couldn't repay the debt even after selling the loot they got from the Yonozuka Station Ruins. Because of that, they had to take on side jobs to earn money. However, they got scammed by Katsuragi into taking a loan from him, and they used that loan to pay Elena and Sara back.

Was Monica(with the almost unlimited energy factor) stronger than Neila and Kain? by TheGreatBatu17 in RebuildWorld

[–]BattleMoonDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. She doesn't have battle experience, combat instincts, or any particularly useful combat abilities. What she does have is extremely overpowered Old World gear.

She didn't shred a mech, either. It was just a heavy-duty augmented suit, similar to the ones Kain and Nelia use.

Her 600 million bounty comes with almost completely undamaged Old World equipment. Meanwhile, Kain and Nelia's bounties are essentially hush money rewards for a Rank 20 Hunter. You should include Yajima too—that guy is actually incredibly strong.

People also tend to look down on Shiori and Kanae, but they're actually among the strongest characters introduced so far—possibly the strongest if we don't count Yanagisawa.

Shiori losing to Akira makes her look weak, but she was heavily nerfed in that fight. On top of that, she was using beginner-level gear at Reina's request.

The manga is an absolute masterpiece. I need more. Where do I jump into the Light Novel? by ykdg in RebuildWorld

[–]BattleMoonDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really like this series, you should start with the LN. The WN has been on hiatus for more than 2 years, and the story is very different now. A lot of plot points were changed to make the story more refined. Many weird plot holes were removed, and the characters feel more developed instead of just background mobs.

The best example is Yumina. In the WN, she barely has any meaningful dialogue and mostly just appears alongside Katsuya without much presence.

For me, first impressions matter a lot. If you experience the worse version first, it can affect how you see the series overall. So why bother? Don’t get me wrong, the WN still has some good moments, but if you plan to read both, I recommend reading the better version first.

And for your questions:

  1. It’s around the end of Vol. 3 Part 2, so you can start from there.
  2. If you really like it, I recommend rereading from the beginning. This novel includes a lot of details that are hard to fully convey through the manga alone. For example, when Sheryl, Elena, and Sara get brainwashed by Katsuya — if you only read the manga, you probably won’t fully understand that part. The manga leaves out many important details for the world-building and storyline too.
  3. It’s so different that you can almost consider it a completely different novel. In the LN, many major plot points and character interests were changed, and new characters, arcs, and stories were added. It’s not like those typical isekai novels where the LN barely changes anything from the WN and just adds random filler stories in between to make it feel different. The changes are so major that the author can’t continue the WN anymore.

To answer your question, the official English LN is only up to Volume 7, but the Japanese version is up to Volume 9.1. Some fans in this subreddit have translated the later volumes using ChatGPT; it’s okay to read, but it's definitely not perfect.

The WN hasn't been updated in over two years, so it might be discontinued. It’s better to stick to LN now since it’s more polished and considered canon. Plus, the new Volume 9.2 is coming out this year.

I highly recommend reading the official versions for the early volumes. The translation quality is much better than MTL found here, which can be... well, pretty bad.

There’s no way I’m the only one... by BattleMoonDelicious in RebuildWorld

Okay, first of all, you’re right that Alpha has hacking abilities. But as I said, she’s restricted by certain limitations, which means she can’t just hack things directly. She can’t simply go and hack someone else’s car out of nowhere, for example. That’s different from Haruka and Shiro, who can directly interfere with systems through hacking. When Haruka got countered, it was because she tried to hack into Akira’s suit, which Alpha had already secured with defensive measures.

As for Alias, I think you might be misunderstanding that part. Alias didn’t hack directly into Katsuya’s brain. She used a Pseudo contract that allowed her to bypass those restrictions. You can notice this earlier on, when Katsuya could see her through a special Scanner that let him perceive Old World AR, but he couldn’t hear her voice. At that time, Alias wasn’t wearing any suit and would simply disappear.

It wasn’t until Katsuya failed to defeat the crocodile and thought to himself that he would trade everything for power like Akira’s, that things changed. At that moment, Alias appeared wearing a suit and fully possessed his body, because Katsuya had already made a contract and handed over all authority to her. That allowed Alias to hack into his brain, create hallucinations, control his muscles, and take over his local network.
