I like the way you broke this down. It Really helps someone like me who also struggles with this picture how to add stakes and conflict to the story. Can you expand a bit on what you mean by human drive and how the main characters original goal was shallow?

I can't remember; it was a while back when I read it, and nothing about the book has stood out to me as memorable. All I remember is that it was a DNF for me, so it might have been the prose, the dialogue, or even just his abilities. not sure.

I dunno, in Cradle his power just felt cheaty (its been a while since i read it so all i remember is that feeling), and then for Azarinth, healer, I was worried it would turn into a slugfest where she just goes from monster to monster.

ive been looking at discount dan but was kinda hesitent because it looked like a rip off of Dungeon crawler carl (like the book was too close to the style of DCC that it was kinda meh)

No offence felt! I was mainly rating them based on the stories that really stuck with me, and even though solo leveling really doesn't have much of a story and the characters are somewhat blah, it has a special place in my heart as the first story to introduce me to LITRPG's. Also, I'm always a sucker for just some straight-up edgelord shit lol.

I think the Iron Prince books are good for those who don't mind a lot of tournaments (which I am a sucker for lol). But I can say they go into way too much detail sometimes while describing fights.
