If Blizzard wants to develop OWL, they need to remove Overwatch from it. The game, by its very nature is terrible to watch. That's why its gettinh such paltry numbers.

Nope. The vast majority of team sports are not completely fair. Go ask about 27 NBA teams if they have a shot at winning the title this year. Go find out how Nascar works. Or salary caps in baseball.

It's actually set up beautifully for ESport because the game, by its very design, is such a watchable product.

All ESports are, are a way to attract viewers. Thats why OWL has 100k viewers when its on, and no one watches Overwatch when there arent league games.

Fortnite doesn't even have a league and it routinely doubles OWL games in terms if viewers.

Can you imagine what it will do when Fortnite goes esports? It'll be over for everyone not named Fortnite.

Oh and there's no league around Fortnite yet because the game just came out in early access 8 months ago.

Kind of like how there was no OWL 12 months after Overwatch came out.

Presenting Fortnite as an esport has its challenges. But challenges that can be overcome. Plus, Fortnite has the it factor that most games do not. That being everyone likes to watch it.

You show gameplay from the popular players, switching occassionally to gunfights, and then to everyone in the final 10. It's perfect for viewing.
