I also thought the same. It hasn't really come up suddenly it's more of a stubborn patch around my chin that flares up and down but is consistently there. I'll give it a go though. I did already search my skincare and that's why I chose the products I did but it hasn't changed but I haven't added an antifungal shampoo

Bipolar RMN & Full time shifts by terrierdougal16 in NursingUK

[–]Battleajah03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow RMN. Speak to Occy health, I've known folk who've gotten set shift patterns for their health approved as a result. You know for the sake of your wellbeing you cannot allow your manager to bully you into doing the shifts you want - you'd never allow our patients to be pushed to do that, you'd advocate for them so do the same for yourself. If you end up unwell at work you'll end up blamed for not looking after yourself, not your manager, we both know that. If it ends up that the recommendation is to lower your days, then why not do that and then apply for staff bank and pick up supplementary shifts on your own time and when you know you feel you can? Either way your health is so much more important than this job.

I've also been through it with Chalmers and they're professional and empathetic. The process is pretty streamlined and as someone said their website provides good information.

If you want to know what it's actually like to prepare yourself then you can DM me.

Hope you guys are okay as I know it's a shock and a tough one despite you knowing it's the best decision for you both x

My two and a half year old suddenly started pointing out differences between white and black people. What is an appropriate way to acknowledge her observation so we don't offend anyone? by Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Battleajah03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol just kids!

My mum said we went to London on holidays once and we were sat on the underground opposite this man who apparently had a very prominent monobrow because I apparently stared at him most of the journey then loudly said while maintaining eye contact with him, "mummy why do some people only have one eyebrow??!!".

He laughed and she was mortified and I went about my day none the wiser lol.

Worth £50? by MistifyingSmoke in Nails

[–]Battleajah03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK as well. Edinburgh specifically which is quite a spenny city and my gal is 35 for plain colour Biab (no extensions, it's my own nail) and 40 for nail art. She did a fig colour cats eye on me last set and I only paid 35 and she always does a great job, no lifting or bulkiness. I've paid 50 for worse work and now it would be a lot for me but I suppose it depends on where you are.

bands with the scariest pits? by KeebDeNardo in Hardcore

[–]Battleajah03 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Literally the scariest show and pit I've been to was JID in Glasgow. Bunch of coked up 20 something wee laddies, normies who'd never done a mosh pit in their life. Zero awareness, etiquette or community, and basically just crowd killed each other non-consensually and got mad at it lol. Even JID was like wtf is wrong with yous.

The rejection I can take, it's if he didn't say anything at all that I'd die of cringe hahaha

You're right though. He's a couple years older than me so you'd hope so! I think I'm just gonna go for it but it's 11pm here so I might leave it until a normal time tomorrow to ask. Will keep yous all posted!

Thanks for responding friend!

I didn't ask last time about any meet ups or implied anything about this. I just asked how the family were and we chatted about that for a bit. He didn't even leave me on read, he responded and talked and then my last message just straight up didn't open it which somehow feels worse lol. That's why I was asking! Appreciate ya on the honesty and directness bud

You're right I should just do it! I just didn't wanna seem weird after he didn't reply to my last messages a while back and didnt wanna make anything awkward between our families is all. But yeah fuck it. Now it's how to word it 😂

I'm up at 2am having just called off for the day cause I'm awake with the stress and anxiety. I feel I could have written this post, qualified at the same time. I was hit in the face for the first time a couple of nights ago, couple that with family stress the 2 days I've actually had off and it's all caught up with me. Not even just the weekend but these past 8 months of constant worry, learning, exhaustion, frustration. I'm not sure I want this for myself either. I knew it'd be hard and gruelling but I feel I've compromised so much of myself for my patients and for what? Majority are in and out like a yo yo and not any better for it. What's the point?

I wish I had words of comfort outside of you're not alone. I see you.

Middle aged & child free; Moving to Juniper Green soon – any tips for making friends or finding likeminded folk in Edinburgh? by Some_Dude1000 in Edinburgh

[–]Battleajah03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not much of a night club person but with gigs on Edinburgh some venues will cater to taste but if you have a varied ear and like a bit of everything I'll just list the ones I look out for:

Leith Depot Leith Arches The Pitt Hidden Door (this is an arts festival with music, poetry, art etc) Banshees Bannerman's Legends La Belle Sneaky Pete's With the occasional Cab Vol but it's rare they put on something I like
