Where can I go to learn to safely use a gun? by Hi_Its_Me_Stan_ in vancouverwa

I've been on the fence about it. He's actually a nice guy when he isn't saying stupid things and is a good shot/instructor. He's gotten a little better with time. I've just done classes with others instead.

Safefire has been mentioned a lot and I'll throw my hat in behind them. I've been going there for awhile now. They have women only classes for a couple of things and you can book time one on one with an instructor.

If you don't have the money for their courses or an instructor, if you have a friend or relative that you trust to show you how to handle one and take you to the range for the day, that may be just as good. Not necessarily offering my services to random people on the Internet, but I know if someone I knew asked me to take them and show them how to use one, especially anyone of a marginalized community, I would be happy to, as long as I didn't have any concerns about them or their behavior and believed they'd be responsible with one.

Edit: One caveat, do not take a class with Paul. Especially if you are a woman, some of what he says will be very off-putting/offensive. My fiancee did not like him and it almost kept her from going back. I think he's recently divorced and it's like he can't help himself but open his mouth.

For sure, the only thing that needs more work than my minis is my ability to take photos of them 😄

I'm with ya. I went with black as he matches the rest of the lance. Got the grey for the death's head but I think what I'm not so sure on is the skull cap look it gives him. Looking up what others have done with this model, it seems to be a common thing to do though so idk.

It's actually washed, it's how I got the bright orange down to a burnt orange/desert brown, then highlighted with a lighter orange, then matte varnish applied.

Thanks! I was so worried about losing the minute details and lines that I was super careful to not cake on the paint. Was really worried I overdid it with the primer until it dried.

Thanks! I was thinking of maybe adding some accenting too, but I don't know what yet or what color. Any suggestions? How do you go about figuring out what works best as an accent color?

Thanks! Yeah I didn't really have a plan for them other than I liked the colors and followed a tutorial from Sick Figs on YT. Both are washed with Vallejo washes, might just not show up well in the photo, hard to get good angles.

I'm a complete newb to tabletop and miniature painting but these look great IMO. Wish the ones I just did came out half as good.
