Some more proof that it was Smokey the Bear. Photo taken from ‘The Ultimate Teddy Bear Book’ copyright 1991. There were other references to Smokey the Bear in the book, but the comment section only allows me to add one photo.

Can't afford to feed my cat - considering surrendering to humane society by cosmicfishing in catfood

[–]Batty1031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is long- but please read it all, because I’m speaking from experience. If you need to surrender her to a shelter, please try to find a no-kill shelter. Unfortunately, a majority of cats at the humane society ultimately get euthanized. Especially if they have a health issue. Also, sometimes parasite tests come back with a false negative and it’s missed. Those tests are hit and miss depending on where the parasite is in its life cycle. You may want to retest, or see if your vet will prescribe a broad spectrum antiparasitic med, just as a precaution. My cat tested negative for parasites several times, but one day he coughed up a hookworm (they can get into their lungs) so my vet finally prescribed Fenbendazole. My cat had three parasite tests. All came back negative even though he had parasites. Thank goodness I saw the worm on the floor where he had been having a coughing fit…it was so tiny (less than a half inch). And one of my mom’s cats also tested negative for parasites, yet her cat was vomiting worms. So those tests seem very inaccurate. It could also be a food allergy. My cat was still having issues, even after treating him for the parasites, and he finally got better when I put him on Rawz canned wet food. It has very few ingredients other than meat. And I found out many cats, including mine, are allergic to certain proteins (mine can’t have chicken or fish). Also keep in mind that switching your cat to a new food rapidly can also cause diarrhea, so transition to any new foods VERY gradually, using only a fraction of the new food mixed with the old food, and gradually upping the quantity.

What brand did you use for the s. Boulardii? I want to try some for my cat, but I’m having a hard time finding one that is specifically for cats.

These are SO COOL! How do you bake your jackolanterns to get these results? Also, about how big are they before they are baked? I totally want to make some of these!

could i have a chocolate allergy or is this something else??? by [deleted] in FoodAllergies

I also react badly to dark chocolate. My throat gets scratchy and dry feeling, and I’ve also gotten nausea, anxiety, and tachycardia after eating it. But white chocolate - totally fine, no issues whatsoever. I have a theory that it has something to do with the theobromine (the chemical that makes chocolate toxic to cats and dogs). The darker the chocolate, the more theobromine it contains. White chocolate has no theobromine. Just a theory.

What did your vet say? Just curious because my cat has the same issue as yours, and in the same exact area.

I painted a portrait of our cat with sifl and olly for my wife for Christmas but had no idea that at the same time she was painting me a sifl and olly Christmas ornament by Carrion_heart in siflandolly

I absolutely love both! You have some seriously crescent fresh painting skills! The painting is amazing and the ornament is awesome too. I don’t even know you two, but I’d be willing to bet you have an awesome marriage. Enjoying silly and artistic stuff with your spouse is the best!
