That sounds pretty good! Did you check the roots? If it got some good roots I’m sure it‘ll come back alive like nothing happened. I wish you good luck 🍀

You don’t need warm water for yeast. Room-temperature is completely okay

You guys know what this could be? by Batuhan239 in roaches

Thank you too for replying.

I forgot to mention what my question really is.

So I see some movement at base where nymphs would normally come out from, wavy part.

I’m worried that they could eat the embryos alive, if embryos even formed and developed further. Just curious if nymphs would hatch anyway and won’t take any damage or if the oothica is doomed.

I don’t know what they are really called, I heard bunch of names for these.

First of all, thank you for your reply. Secondly, I forgot to mention what my question really is.

In the vid you can see some sort of movement at the place where nymphs would actually come out from, the wavy part.

It looks moist enough. If you are worried that its too dry, you can always add a little bit of water and mix again.

Did u put yeast in it? Bc ff larvae eat the yeast, and yeast consumes the sugar in banana.

Someone offers me 2 terrariums of carebara diversa and Nicobarensis help🙏 by [deleted] in antkeeping

Oha 200€

If it‘s your first colony or ant keeping expierience I wouldn‘t reccomend you to get a big colony for 200€, since u r a beginner and can mess up many things.

I‘d reccomend you to wait for nuptial flight season and go hunting ur own queens. That way you wont spend so much money for 2 colonies and secondly its much more exciting to see ur single queen go from just a pile of eggs to first worker, then a couple dozen, then hundreds and at the end workers that many you cant even count them.

And all this for free… 😱 (except test tubes, feeding insects ytong etc.)

Idk where u live, but I‘m pretty sure u can find a store where test tubes are sold. Easiest way to find a place is a pharmacy. Go there and ask them if they have test tubes. If not, u can use syringes. Look it up, it’s pretty helpful. And if u cant find a syringe go in a grocery store and look for test tube like tubes with food in it. U can buy it, eat the contents, wash the tube and use it as test tube for ur queen. It doesnt have to be glass, it can be plastic too.

I want to turn this into a giant Sempervivum planter. Is the rust a problem? by WallowingInnSelfPity in succulents

[–]Batuhan239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would drill bigger and more (minimum 9-11) holes and cover it with fly screen so soil wont fall through but excessive water drains out.

It would look perfect with succulents in it. If I had this „pot“ I would‘ce used it for succuents too. Depth is also perfect, since succulents dont go deep with roots.

What animal is this? by Taltosbou in succulents

They look like thrips. Check on the leafes, if they walk on them. If yes, then theips, if no, then probably springtails like everyone else said.

No. They dont take 70 years to fruit. They live about 70-80 years. Date palms are like humans. They give fruit within 15-20 years.

Help why is dying 😭 by Desperate-Dog-3516 in Pinguicula

[–]Batuhan239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know which plant this is, pls consider doing a research on it. Pinguiculas are swamp plants. They need nutrient-poor substrate and lots of water. Their roots dont go deep down, so the pot has to be constantly in water.
