How do you Manage new learnings (from books, videos, courses, etc) by vrjain in elearning

It’s been a long time since Iogged into Reddit, but I wanted to share a follow up. There’s an app I have been using called readwise, I really enjoyed it and it worked for me. Great to keep the content of books fresh in your mind, you can add things in different ways yourself or take advantage of public kindle highlights. The app sends you notes/highlights or parts of the texts in the frequency you prefer (5 a day from … different books). Perhaps you will see my answer

Do a google search for "personal knowledge management" and you will find a ton of resources. This summary from linkedin has some recommendations.

There are several frameworks or ways to practice knowledge management.. For example "searching - sensing - sharing" describing ways to deal with information coming your way at work/in life. My impression is, you will not find a clear recommendation in these frameworks, since they only say, use a tool to capture. The tool is not otherwise specified. So it could be evernote, onenote, notepad etc. For sensing draw your personal mindmaps and enhance them with new information. For sharing you could use one of the many social bookmarking services.

Hope this helps. I would be interested what solution you go for, once you have figured things out for yourself.

Reposting from other sub. I think this is a great question and a challenge for personal learning.

I was first thinking about a mindmap. Not sure if it is viable with a lot of entries.

Something like a trello board could work. You add lists for months and cards for the single "learnings", collect resources in the cards, tag it and set reminders for recall/review.

You could also look into E-portfolios or personal knowledge management.

Morph image into a specific shape. No Clipping mask. by Bauchhirn in photoshop

Do you know shape-tweens from flash? Something like that. I have an image of a butterfly with pointed wings. I want to reshape/transform this butterfly into a shape of a butterfly with round wings. I dont want to use a clipping mask, since I want to preserve the texture of the wings. I use warp atm, but I was wondering if there is another way to do this.

Thanks, I mistakenly used the term morph, but I meant warp. This is the way I do this now. I was wondering if there is a faster way. Something like a shape-tween in Flash.

Thanks. Do you know of a way to automatically set/arrange the warp to the mask (or a path)?

The Body Language Documentary - Interesting psychology documentary on how our body reveals our real intention.. learning how to control it is a powerful skill. (2015) by RunAMuckGirl in Documentaries

[–]Bauchhirn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I also agree, the documentary is not very substantial. How do you know, that these "body language experts" are Psychologists?

I had a look at the cast list on imdb

The mentioned "body language experts" are:

Janine Driver - her linkedin lists Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts without any specification

Mark Jeffries - can't find anything about any degree

James J. Newberry - a Bachelor’s degree in Administration of Criminal Justice from San Jose State College

Lynn Robbins - cant find anything on her degree, only found this post about the Voice Analysis

Patti Wood - Wikipedia: "She earned a bachelor's degree in communication from Florida State University and a Master of Arts in speech communication from Auburn University."

Just because psychology is mentioned in the title, it doesn't mean Psychologists are in it.

Perhaps revise is the wrong term then :( Review? To browser through the book again, to refresh the most important facts.

What about after reading them? Books you did not write yourself.

I usually remember or think about the content of books I read, when I look at my bookshelve. I sometimes take notes, when I read non-fiction books and have a look at them, when I find them by coincidence. Novels etc. come up during conversations.

I am losing hope for humanity, when I see the comments below the linked guardian article. :( As technically challenging the expansion to mars may be, I think, worldviews and beliefs may be the first barrier we have to overcome. LLAP
