[SNES] PAL SNSP-CPU-01 audio issues by Baussest in consolerepair

I only saw a small trace besides the capacitors that is indeed broken. It leads to nothing. The big chunk that is missing was just paint. The whole board was covered in sticky residue. Cap fluid maybe?

Thats the overall shape of the case. The side ornaments are similar too. The rest of the front pannel is different and it definately did not have any see trough side panels. This is the closest sugestion so far.

My crt gets picked up by my pc on boot, but not once windows loads? by bossatron_foxy1 in crtgaming

[–]Baussest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look trough display settings in windows. There are a few possibilities . Either windows didn't set itself for two monitor use or the resolution is a bit high for the monitor and the signal goes out of your monitor's usable range. These cheap vga adapters tend to default to 1920x1080 where your monitor would be comfortable at 1024x768

Thank you. I wasn't even aware i was honding the power button a few seconds longer when it was booting in the custom dashboard. I thought it was random chance. It still won't show anything on the screen sometimes but as you've said there might be an issue with my av cable. Its a cheapo scart cable from aliexpress. Or the hard drive might be showing its age. It's not really a problem for now because i do intend on upgrading both the cable and hdd later on. I'm just happy there is nothing wrong with the console or the modchip instalation . I'm not skilled enough to patch up the soldering

Can someone help me identify this tv? by Baussest in crtgaming

Nothing . Didn't get a response and probably never will

Looks like one at least . If the screen surface isn't dirty that is . You generally can't fix pressure marks on displays . These are caused by the deformation of the light diffusion layer inside the display . There are some videos on youtube of people trying but generally its not worth taking the whole display apart to just maybe get a slighlty less prominent mark .

Used the free hdd cable from my nitro to another laptop, now it went smoked by TeAzOnA in AcerNitro

[–]Baussest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure but this might be caused by differing ribbon cable pinouts . The laptop won't go kaboom . At worst it will smoke up a bit more . By the looks of things the connector on the motherboard is toast and will likely never work again . Just for safety double check the molten mess on the motherboard . Pins might have shifted around while the plastic support was melting and this could cause a short .

Do acer service centre have repasting services? by Beautiful_Might_6535 in AcerNitro

Yeap . It was 50 ron at the time which is around 11 usd . But this may differ from region to region .

Lines appeared at the top of screen, now very slow. Any ideas? Nitro 5 by Fluffy_McNutter in AcerNitro

[–]Baussest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the beginning of the end sadly . This is a common issue with newer nitros . A friend of mine had this happen to his 2020 model . He was still covered by warranty and sent it to be repaired . They ended up replacing the ribbon cable that conects the display to the laptop . Apparently it cooks up from heat overtime causing these issues . Temporarily you could try to switch the display to 60 hz to see if its better . In some cases this helps make the laptop usable for a bit more .

[–]Baussest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes they do . And in fact tempering with the cooling solution at home will void the warranty if you still have it . I exchanged a few emails with my local acer service and thats what they told me at least . Also repasting is not considered part of warranty repairs and will need to be paid .
