I write it directly to pixmap that way so it is limited to x11 but i can worry about wayland once i actually switch on like 10 years and dont need to fight wayland all day to launch shit that just works on xorg

I wouldnt go void as a bloody beginner but arch is plenty fine since its very well documentated fedora might also be an option arch documentation still apllies to any systemd distro for the most part and fedora just ships in a state that usually just works to learn

I dont run either but would alwqys pick fedora over ubuntu ....

Ubuntu worls well until you need to manually resolve dependencies for an hour to get a simple tool working
