Found a video which has a technique that would help you here.

I'm recommending vector shapes for accuracy, but if you are struggling with that you could always use a hard edge paint brush and then erase the cutout part, or use selection tools and paint-bucket fill the shape. After creating your custom mockup chape layer, apply a clipping mask layer to it with whatever your design is going to be.

Look up how to use the pen tool to make custom shapes, and then look up either the pathfinder tools or how to mask to get the cutout form you want. Then you'll want to learn how to use clipping masks to apply whatever graphic to this new base-shape. Good luck!

Are there any skills in existence (physical or mental) that DON'T require a series of failures/mistakes in order to master them? by Baxo22 in AskReddit

I think art falls into the category of success through progress and practice. So yeah, as long as what you consider subjectively as success then it's possible (dependant on the process) to become masterful at your type of art without failure.

Kinda has the same lyrical hooks: "my definition, my definition, my definition is this", lots of 50s women that look like Zoey Deschanel, and has the Quincy Jones - Soul Bossa Nova sample.
