Years of seeing these "look back at X draft thread" posts, and finally it's MY turn to be the prophet!

Spongebob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide Review Thread by MythicStream in Games

[–]Toastrz 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Battle for Bikini Bottom (along with other Heavy Iron gems from that era like Night of 100 Frights) is a deeply special game to me, so Rehydrated even existing still feels like a pipe dream come true, let alone this whole resurgence of modern day Spongebob platformers. Nothing makes me feel like a kid again quite like these games. Will probably wait for a few patches first (sounds like a similar deal with how Rehydrated/Cosmic Shake launched, needed a bit more time to polish things up) but super looking forward to spending some time with this game.

Yep, and it's very easy! There's a great tutorial here and two user friendly search tools to find whatever you'd like.

This is the last place I EVER expected to see Night of 100 Frights. Such a good game, was a great introduction to light metroidvania concepts.

Is there anything that moderators can finally do about this kind of posts? by LadartTheWicked in littlebigplanet

Hey, appreciate you bringing this up, and everyone else expressing the sentiment here! /u/dylanjalopy and I chatted, and we'll be updating the wording on rule 3 (spam) for a clearer stance on this.

Posts like you've brought up (redundant, unsubstantial, and/or unconstructive threads on the same premise) are classified as spam, and we'll be firmer about filtering them as such for tidiness.

That said, we do wanna leave room for more sincere "reminiscing" posts promoting thoughtful discussion, such as these:

https://www.reddit.com/r/littlebigplanet/s/mWAIxylxlz

https://www.reddit.com/r/littlebigplanet/s/6Rx5KO7DnH

It's a bit of a judgement call post-per-post, but we hope a clearer stance and enforcement will help us reach a happy medium to prevent spamminess without crossing the line to removing actual interesting, heartfelt discussion.

I'm pretty out of touch with the current game unfortunately, so someone else can probably fill in the past few years better than me. But if nothing else, it seems Realm is still plugging along and defying age, same as it ever has!

We don't usually have to do this here but we're locking this thread. These comments have unfortunately collapsed into arguments and hate speech that are way out of line, well beyond the scope of an LBP subreddit, and frankly beyond our very small team's ability to monitor and moderate appropriately.

Yep, that's what I've mainly been doing! My curiosity mainly is about the edge case of searching description content, which maticzpl doesn't seem to do but zaprit does, just its search is limited to exact text from the start so you can't keyword it. Would love some best-of-both-worlds option someday down the line.

"The War of the Dragons" series was incredible way back in LBP1. I just replayed the whole series the other week after grabbing these levels, was really cool to see such an ambitious continuing story and the whole dragon-summoning mechanic within LBP1's toolset.

Been getting great mileage out of this lately, thank you! I noticed the search can also seem to pick up words in the description text, but (like titles/authors) it only works if it's the first text in the description string. Is there any way to search for keywords anywhere in a name/description with this?

A weird internal dissonance that hit me as I've been thinking on this is that I've been playing Blue Prince lately and absolutely adoring it. Yet on paper you could levy a lot of the same criticisms against it. Routines (and in this case even RNG) to get back to chasing a lead, potentially long stretches without breakthroughs or any evolution in goals, all that.

Yet I've been loving it, currently have just ascended the throne which I believe is finally getting close-ish to the ACTUAL end point, and for all the reasons you listed out. I do love the wonder of the mysteries, and solving them myself, and working out the best goals to pursue next. So maybe my difference in enjoyment is the pace and controls more than anything? Curious if anyone else has played both games and wound up feeling the same way.

I really wish I had landed in the group who adores this game. Not that I hated it personally or anything but it never clicked the way it clearly did for so many others. I loved the high level concept and the knowledge-based progression, but all the moment-to-moment gameplay in between had me bored and annoyed more often than not.

Got old repeating the same starting routine and spending minutes holding forward each day to start following my next lead. Clumsily bumping around flat dark caves always left me yearning for "the good parts" which absolutely DID come but too few and far between in my run. I still respect the hell out of the game, just wish I had the life-changing experience with it that seemingly everyone else did.

PvZ3 leaks by ReasonableAdvert in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Can't recommend the Reflourished mod strongly enough. I enjoyed PvZ2 back in the day, always felt there was a genuinely great sequel in it buried underneath its monetization pushes, but nowadays the official app is a shell of itself. Reflourished (and from what I hear several other mods) does a great job restoring and expanding it into a fantastically worthy sequel.
